Something wrong with my driver side window

I have a convertible 2000 gt and my driver side window doesn't seal when I shut it. Its hanging off about a quarter of an inch. I'm replacing the top because its in pretty bad shape but I'm thinking that wont fix it. Do I need to buy a new driver side window? Will getting a new vert top fix my problem? are there any other solutions? Any advice? Also my passenger side window seals fine. Here are some pics.

Did someone try to break into your car? It looks like the window has been popped off the brackets on the power window assembly. Pull the door panel off and have a look. Could be the window, the assembly ,or the tracks.

I've had the car like a year. The previous owner never told me anyone broke into it so to my knowledge no. 100% no since I've had the car. I'll check that later on today and see

Mine is a coupe, what happened is someone tried to break in by prying the window back, popping it off the bracket and reaching inside to unlock the door. I had to pull the window, because the window was not glued to the bracket anymore. When the thief pryed the window it widened the bracket which gave the window all kinds of play. I pulled the window, drilled the rivets that attach the brackets to the power window assembly, reglued the window to the brackets. Through all back together again, put bolts in where the rivets were. I hope this helps.

I have a coupe that had same problem. It was the rear bracket that came loose for me inside the door. One of the rivets came loose. I just took a small self tapping screw and put it back so it sat level with the glass. I did it about 2 mos. ago and no problems so far. I'm sure you could do more to secure it than me if you want to.

It's a notorious problem with New Edges. All you need to do is roll down the window, then roll it back up and it should fit back into place. The seal isn't perfect, but it's a lot better. Mine does this every time someone opens the door, and when they try to shut it, the window pops out. My shop quoted me at + or - $400 to replace the window internals to have it fixed. Not worth it in my opinion. I'd rather just roll the window down and back up.

Dude, how lazy and cheap can you be? Read the thread I posted. Take a few hours and a few bucks and fix it... There is no way, I would leave this problem unfixed.

Well that response seems a little harsh man. Might want to calm it down a little. But I'm not having any issues with my car. It's not causing any undesired problems. It's a simple press up and down on the window button to solve the seal problem. Rain doesn't come into my car. Washing my car I have no leaks. So what is the problem dude? It's not a big deal. And sorry for not reading your thread. I saw the initial post and made a response, didn't want to read everything everyone had to say.

Maybe it was a little harsh. Sorry, I just think you and any others with this issue would be happy if you/they took the time to fix it.

It's all good man, no hard feelings. But I'm sure you're right. Once I get done with finals I'll probably take a good look at your thread and put some work in on the window.
