Question

Tuning my '00 TT Mustang GT

The shop I am going to is down to one issue with tuning, so I hope somebody can chime in an answer a few questions for me. They are planning to tune my car with an SCT hand-held tuner. I am running:

HP Twin-Turbo setup
MMR 950 Stroker shortblock
Trick Flow 44cc heads
Ederbrock Victor Jr. Intake
Accufab Plenum
83lb Deka Seimens injectors

The guy tuning the engine is having issues with Injectors. He is not certain if they are compatible with the SCT tuner. The injectors are "low-impedance", but I had an Injector Driver installed to fix that issue. Now he has asked me for the following information on the 83lb Deka Seimens injectors:

* the injector high and low slopes,
* injector breakpoint,
* injector pulsewidth
* injector comp battery voltage.

This is a link to my "build"
What the Freak!? TrickFlow Heads w/turbo Updates?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated if anybody has some experience with these injectors.
Frank

Im not sure he found any other data with 83lb injectors with twin-turbo. I am not sure what the issue is to be honest...

How much are you paying for the tune if you dont mind me asking?

Not to be an ass but I hope its not a lot. Youre paying HIM to tune it...not vice versa...he should be the one going out and solving this issue. Id be a little concerned if I was in your position. But thats just my opinion.

Wish I could help but ive never ran those injectors or similar ones before.

I think it will all work out in the wash. This guy has been tuning cars for quite a while now and has a good reputation in this area. I may be totally wrong about what the issue is since the software may not be compatible with this injector size (at least not with the current data logs). SCT will be calling him in the morning and hopefully they can fix this.

I would keep an eye out. I agree with AJM. He should be the one contacting SCT to get the issue fixed... I never heard of a customer who does the work for the other guy and then pays him for it...

If only my job was that easy..

Its not a software issue, but he does need that data. I would have run those 80lb high impedance injectors so i wouldn't have to deal with an injector driver. I minimize "extra" parts where failure can have catastrophic consequences.

I hear ya man. I was so ignorant to the facts when I bought those low-impedance. It was either buy new ones or buy the AEM injector-driver. I chose the driver because the low impedance injectors have better manners with idle. (I hope so since I read that somewhere)
