Good suspension and DRs will do the trick. Hooking on or off the track isn't gonna happen with 450rwhp, stiffer lowering springs and street tires. At the very least get a wide set of DRs that have a decent tread pattern so you won't be sliding all over the place in the rain.

You actually could pull a bunch of timing out and make much less power, but why would you want to do that? The direction he should be heading is figuring out how to plant the power he does have. |

That being said, that's not what this guy needs. 450rwhp is very streetable when you are running the right setup for that amount of power. He isn't gonna be hooking any better on the track, actually most likely much worse if he doesn't get a good set of tires and maybe some suspension to back up that power. Also, why do you need to go WOT in first or second gear with 450rwhp on the street anyways? It's not like half throttle won't pull harder than most every car around you, and you won't be sliding all over the place. I have daily driven +420rwhp on the street with street tires for like a year and a half. You just learn that on street tires, you will smoke the hell out of the tires in first or second at past half throttle. If that's not what you want, then get some better tires. lol. I knew it! Let me know when you plan on going again. I can't run until I get the rear end fixed, but if it's fixed when you go I'll try and stay with you on the track.

And before anyone says anything about the 400 N/A, I already know it is almost "IMPOSSIBLE" on a 2V, but I think I have a real chance with the set up I got going.

To the op. Get some good adjustable shocks/struts they will help. I've tried the softer 4cyl springs in the back of my car and I can tell you right now they didn't help me at all. If your car squats hard enough to bounce in the rear like mine is doing then you'll just unload the tires(and I run full slicks) right after the launch. Is the car launching straight? If it's twisting to one side real bad that can also cause a loss of traction. A good axle/body mounted sway bar would help that or if you don't mind the extra noise an anti-roll bar would make dam sure it launched straight. Oh and the only dr I've ever had that was good in the rain was the nitro 555r's and they drove just like a street tire in the rain. But if I were you try the nt05r's they seem like they'll be the happy medium that everyone will end up using.
