Subframe Costs

Does anyone have a ballpark estimate of the cost to pay someone to weld on subframes or know of a place in Houston,TX that does it well?

On average youll have to pay a muffler shop 1 hours labor for it. so $50 to $80 to have it welded in

I Paid 100 bones to get my subframes installed and welded, I wouldn't pay more than that.

Seriously why would you pay a muffler shop to put in subframes? I wouldn't trust a dentist to do a triple bypass because that's not what their job is. Guys at muffler shops usually aren't in tune to what exactly needs to be done to install subframes. I've heard of tons of people that get them done at muffler shops, and they end up not setting the car right beforehand and they weld in a permanent tweak in your chassis. Lots of guys are great welders, but that's only half of installing subframes correctly. If the chassis isn't set up right before the install, you're pissing your money away doing it at all.

Take it to an actual speed shop. Might have to pay a little more but the actual subframes are cheap so it evens out. People pay more money just to buy stuff like LT headers that don't do shit, so even if you have to pay $400 for parts and labor for SFC's why cheap out?

Welding is never permanent, just more permanent than bolting.

Any welder can cut, grind and reweld something.

the only issue is cosmetics in some cases.
