Add 140+ HP With Bolt-Ons?
Hey guys! is it possible to add 140+hp to a 02 GT with just little bolt-ons?(no sc or tc) I've looked around on here for a bit n read alot about bolt-ons but they dont really list the hp gains for the parts their talkin about. So can someone list a few parts with the estimated hp gains? and if you wanna make it really easy on me, give me a good brand/model of the part. I dont have very deep pockets so i dont wanna go out a buy something thats no good/wont fit so it would really be abig help

With just bolt ons you will never see those kind of gains. With every bolt-on you can think of, a full exhaust system plus head and cam work and a damn good dyno tune you will see the best N/A gains.

Uhmmm you can get close to that, not with "simple" bolt ons, but i think cams and heads count as bolt ons...do pistons and rods count as a bolt on? lol i didnt think so. Well anyways look at my parts list and (when i get done) ill have added 110-120hp with just bolt ons, or atleast my definition of bolt ons. So if you bore and stroke, with forged internals the answer can be yes +140 while still N/A.

Re: Add 140+ hp with bolt-ons?
No i never had mine dynoed beforfe, but stock 03's on the exact dyno i went to were around 220RWHP, and i spent about $7500, subtract my rims/tires and you got bout $6000 sumthin. Was it worth it? Depends on your point of view. Im happy, even tho i still got a thing or two i need done. Now for $4700, i could have more HP, but then would want all the rest of thie things i already have. Like i said depends on point of view.

Re: Add 140+ hp with bolt-ons?
Dynojet, and my fuel pressure isnt high enough. It jumps up and down throughout the powerband from 34psi-42psi, i need to find an Adjustable fuel pressure regulator, a smaller belt to accomodate the electric water pump idler pulley which is smaller than an under drive or stock pulley so i can keep my harmonic balancer underdrive, then i need a 160 degree thermostat. Finally i cant afford the intake i wanted so badly or throttle body till later, but gives me something to look forward to.

Re: Add 140+ hp with bolt-ons?
Oh and i need atleast 40psi solid throughout the powerband to add some robbed power, and keep the power from dipping OR easier to say "keep the car from stumbling under acceleration"...its also fuckin up my Air/fuel ratio, it jumps around from 10.4:1 up to 12.5:1 because of the lack of fuel.

but if you're going to do that why not just get a forged block and have the block reinforced too.

yes it is possible to gain that much but it will take more money than i think anyone wants to spend. KenB was the fastest 2V in thecountry NA and he made 370rwhp. But guys the motor would have to have like a 13.5-1 compression ratio, nothing but race gas could be ran, Some super n/a cams and aluminum everything in the motor so it takes less to turn the motor. and some heavily race ported svo heads. And a custom intake. On average you can probrably make close to 100rwhp more with every bolt on, heads, cams, intake, built motor.

ok so i take it that it would be ALOT easier to just get a s/c then to waste more money n time on less hp. So if i were to get a s/c, what else would i need to modify to be able to run high boost levels?
