Loudmouth 2 vs. Magnapacks

I have a 2000 mustang gt with cold air intake. Which system would the loudest on my car? Is there a huge difference in sound between the two cuz in videos they sound almost identical. How much quieter are they compared to the loudmouth 1?

Just search the forum. I couldnt tell you how many times this lm2 debate vs. packs has been posted. But what kind of mid pipe are you going to run? o/r, catted, stock? That will play a role in the loudness. But I have an o/r h an magnapacks and its loud but has a very deep tone. But as a general rule.. Magnapacks are louder than lm2. And lm1 and just crazy loud.

Read this thread... It should help you. SLP LM2 or Magnapacks?

I'd go Magnapacks. I've set car alarms off with them and scared the shit out of people. But at the same time it has a real tone and some sound that is just amazing. Just my 2cents.

not sure about LM haven't had them or heard in person but i have mac Lts o/r h with magnapacck catback. Im certainly a fan of it can be very loud if u want it to be lol but like truebluegt said its very deep sound, presonally perfer this over the high pitch crackly sound other mufflers have. Its not to loud when your just cruising and i daily drive mine all summer so that is a plus when traveling longer distances. Can email you some videos if it would help with your decision just pm

There are quite a few videos of packs and lm2 on the link to the old thread I posted above^ But here is a video of lt's with bbk o/r h and lm2's and then in the 2nd half of the video is the same setup only with packs.
Its a nice video to compare the two. But pack all of the way. I would never change them (Unless someone came up and gave me a bassani race catback) But for the price and quality the packs are great!

Also go to completeexhaust.com and look for the magnapacks. Call and ask for the forum special. You use to be able to get packs shipped to your door for around $360 with the forum special. But magnaflow raised their prices in march. So I got my packs for $400 shipped. Which is still a great deal because most places are $489 or higher!

I've heard lm1's in person with an o/r x..... Bring your ear plugs! If you ever consider getting lm1's then I would go catted mid. They are kinda hollow sounding and dont have any tone. They are for the loud crowd. I know many people who swear by lm1's but I know more people that hated them and just sold them and went with lm2 or magnapacks. (And if you have the money bassani race, or borla stingers) are also good straight through style resonators.

What do i have to do to get the special price? do i just ask for the forum special or do i have to join anythng? The thing that makes me kinda hesitant about the magnapacks is that i heard that u the screws tend to come loose and u have to keep retightening them. i also read another one on americanmuscle.com that said that the pipes where bent wrong and they had to have it installed by ford and afterward had to get them realigned and welded by a muffler shop and are still having problems. i know that was just one instance, but i dont want to be the unlucky 2nd instance

Magnapacks is like having sex with megan fox
Loud mouths are like having sex with your wife/gf

Yes both of them you are having sex. But one of the 2 is "better"

Same deal, both are loud...but one sounds better being loud

yes, the tips are pretty shitty. Just use locktite on adjustment screw on the tips and you'll be fine. Also my piping was perfect, no problems with the piping bent wrong. You'll be fine. Magnaflow is a top quality company minus their tipsbut it's not a big deal really.

To get that price you MUST call completeexhaust and ask for the "Form Special". Thats it, that easy. You do not need to prove you are a member or anything. Great guys.

^PowerShiftz hit it pretty dead on.. Locktite on the allen wrench adj. screw and you should be set. It's high quality SS and I had no problems with fitment. Just after you get it on and tighten everything for the first time, make sure you listen for leaks. And if there are no leaks then go drive for 25-30 miles and let everything cool down again. Then re-tighten to make sure everything is nice and tight!

Read this if you are installing this yourself and have never installed a cat back. It should be helpful either way. Magnaflow 'MagnaPack' Mustang Exhaust (1999-2004 GT / Mach 1 / Bullitt) - Installation Instructions at AmericanMuscle.com

I've heard lm1 and 2's and just thought the packs were the perfect happy medium between lm1 and 2's.

These are my OPINIONS

lm1- Loudest, raspy, no restriction, no tone.

Magnapacks- 2nd loudest, very very deep tone, great sound!

lm2- Not as loud as Magnapacks, Same as lm1 but with packing to make them not so raspy and loud. Actually has some tone.

SLP= The new flowmaster. Everyone seems to have these things! When I heard my friends I just didnt see what all the hype was about. Except for those sexy double walled tips

That LMII/ Packs comparison video helped me make my choice. And after hearing both lmI and II's i just didnt like them as much. I was going to go Bassani. But the $$ and review of the packs is what made me go with them. And I would never change my packs!I looooveee them. And setting off car alarms is fun in the wal * mart parking lot

But if you like your lmII's then thats all that matters cook! I am not against any kind of exhaust setup because not everyone will like it. All I can do is give my 2cents.

I can't see that vid at work :mad

And I don't have the LMII's on yet, so if I can switch them out now would be the time to do it.

I live in VA and aftermarket exhaust are technically illegal but i have never heard anyone with a mustang get pulled over for one. Is it true that with the magnapacks they are fairly calm when normally driving but all hell breaks loose when u get on it? my car is a daily driver an i will be just be cruising most of the time. Will i get pulled over for loudness when normally driving? I will just be running the stock mid pipe and headers.
