I want to do it I just have been fearing the loss of power without burning the sensors off.

I'm going with an X pipe (custom made), Flowmaster 40's and short tubes

OP, you do not have to send your car off. Just buy an SCT xf3 handheld tuner or diablo of the sort. You will need it for future modding and can pick up a few ponies from it as well. This will allow you to turn off your rear o2's, advance spark and tune for octane as well as if auto, change shift points and firm up the shifts.

If you want a quick fix if you are on a budget, they make mil eliminators that you plug into between the ecu plugs and the o2's.

I want to get a tuner soon but it'll probably be a month or so til I can afford one.

I did see an article on those Mil eliminators and they dont look so hard to put on so I may drop by radio shack and get the parts to make some (seen an article on how to make them).

You guys have been extremely helpful and I appreciate it all. I join a lot of forums for things and its always good to find active board members.

The car I stripped everything out of was a 97 GT Engine that had an engine replacement. The replacement was a 01 PI Engine. The mechanic used the original coil setup from the 97 with the coils up front with timing cover etc.

Everything that was stock on a 97 GT otherwise was still on the car including the 6 cats

The car was slammed in the Driver side about 4 inches and its sad because I remember it being drove and it was a pretty car. Loaded with about every option that you could get too (cup holder center console, center clock, sunroof, cruise control, abs, leather seats). However when I got the car for 700 bucks with a PI engine only 15,000 miles on it. I got real happy all of a sudden
