Power adder questions 02GT

Ok so I have been thinking. Like always.

My 02 GT has a few mods:

TB
INtake
Pleanum
CAM's
Ported heads
FUll lenth headers
SCT tuner

I am set to get a tune this saturday morning + Dyno run. Before I do I want to make sure I don't have to go back again soon and waste the cash I am going to shell out now you know.

I am now thinking of either adding Nitrous or FI. Below was my FI Idea if I go that route. Nitrous route would be like a 75-125 wet shot. I want to know what you all would do. I can either get the nitrous then go get tuned or if I am going to go the FI route should I just get the other stuff first like the Fuel pump, Injectors, MAF ( not sure what kind ) ect... ?? Your thoughts ??

I noticed this thread for building your own vortech kit. $1500 96-04GT Supercharger kit "how its done" - MustangForums.com

I am thinking of doing this FI setup and was wondering if I can get any Vortech Supercharger or dose the head unit need to be specific to a 4.6 kit head unit? Humm

Head unit has to be for a 4.6. They rotate counter clockwise. Your cams might decide what you should do, but that would be for someone who has them to answer.

I'd piece together a supercharger kit and then get tuned/dyno'd. Of course I'm boost happy. Nitrous is ok but I would go through several bottles a week

Yeah I am trying to be boost happy! Haha. but cost is a bit more. I am leaning on a cold fusion nitrous wet kit just because it will only be $500.00 and will alow me to save a bit of cash.

MUSTANG GT FORD NITROUS OXIDE WET KIT UP TO 200HP NEW: eBay Motors (item 350274877536 end time Jun-02-10 14:18:41 PDT)

If I roll with this kit do I need like a fuel shut off or any other saftey stuff? If I do get the nitrous I want to be as safe as I can for the car as to not blow anything. I'd gladly give up 50 HP to be safer.

yes sir! I would go thru spray like crazy! I am in boost a lot! lol But hey I put it on there for that reason!

It is more expensive but better off in the long run. Look for a P1sc or V2 blower.

I hear that! I know that if I got the nitrous I would be wishing I had the power on foot command not having to arm, purge, spray and hope I have some left in the bottle. Good call Guys.

I'll just save a bit more.

Question though... I am going to the dyno this weekned. You can see my above mods but still have the stock MAF Sensor. Should I grab a 90mm lightning sensor and throw that on before the tune? Would that work with FI or do I need a blowthrough or some shiz?? Also would throwing a 255 pump in there befor the tune help at all?

Also comming off my headers I have an x pipe with cats. Do you think throwing a pipe without cats would help power or even be worth the cash?

Thanks. I just want to make sure I maximize this tune.

Oh and I have a engine bay intake system. would it be worth it to run the extra 90 degree pipe to put it in the fenderwell? thanks!

you wont need fuel or a MAF with your setup.

When/If you go FI...go blow thru(intercooled)with IMHO a 05+ slot style MAF, a Ford GT pump and a BAP with 42lbs or 60lbs injectors

I'd go to tune just the way you are now. When you supercharge put a GT supercar fuel pump in and run blow through with an HPX PMAS MAF.

As long as those cats are high flow units you won't get much of a gain by going catless. And I'd leave the intake the way ti is right now.

Thanks Dcook. Some good clear advice. That is what I was looking for.

Sum it all up. Save for the Supercharger parts then get to boosting. I'll post some #'rs next week. Hoping I'll be at least 300 RWHP but we see.

This is a V2 but has the 90 degree discharge. Do you all think this would work in my 02 GT?

Ok here is one more pic. I don't know much about superchargers but I know a pulley goes on back. How would I find the correct pully & dose it mount by screw? I just don't see how it would mount on this. I was looking at pullys on Superchargersonline.com in the accesorys section.
Any feedback is awsome
