03 gt trade in on 03 cobra

So everyone knows i just got my car up and running. Well Yesterday i found a 03 Cobra. Its only got 26k on it, completely stock. My 03 gt has 66k on it. They are offering trade in on my car of 9500, but they want 21,900 for the cobra. Good deal or keep looking?

Think about how your car would be if you stuck $12k into it. I'm guessing it'd be a little better than a stock termi. I say keep your car.

and thats not that bad of price for your trade in man. most of the time they rape you on trade in. you'd have a hard time selling your car out right for that price. i'd jump all over it dude.

I would hope with $12k into the car he'd be pushing some big HP and waxing stock termis.

Spend 2k on bottom end, 3k on blower, 2k on heads/cams/top end, 2k on trans and rear, 2k on suspension, and 1k on fuel setup and you got yourself a screamer that will be running with or beating twin screwed termis

prob easier to finance the 12k for the cobra than it is for speed-parts from your bank? i know when i checked personal loan rates VS used-car rates, car was lower rate.

Gotcha. I'm just thinking that instead of making higher payments on the cobra he could take what the difference would be and build the GT over time.

I'm not saying to sink 12k in the car right of the bat. See my post above

The older I get, the more I'm a fan of "buy it done...." Plus Terminators are really neat cars!

I have had both and more. I owned an 03 Whippled Cobra, and 04 Ported Cobra, 03 Procharged Mach 1, 04 Built 20psi Mach 1, 00 Saleen SC, 00 Procharged GT, etc.

If I were you, I would trade the GT for the Terminator. That is a great price for the Cobra at a dealer with that mileage. Not a bad trade in value either. Problem will be that you will not be able to keep the Cobra stock. It is too easy to make big power. I say go for it. Check Carfax (although far from perfect).

sounds good to me, really good. that's a good amount for trade in, and to those that say spend $12k on your car instead of loaning it out for a cobra is not that smart. a cobra will hold value much longer than a modded gt. take it from a guy who modded a gt instead of buying a terminator.

Nothing wrong with modding a GT. Just make sure you know what type of power adder you ultimately want, what color car you want, etc. I think a built GT with Saleen body kit and single turbo would make a sweet ride. Cobras do hold their value pretty well though.
