A 125 shot isn't going to blow the motor. You'd need more like a 250 shot to break something. You will need to tune for a 125 shot though.

Just trying to make them think... I just see either way getting expensive I'd rather just build a block Forged and them make the decision based on what I would build..

You need to know which way you're going before you build your shortblock though. If you want to stay NA you need to get some high compression pistons and you can probably go with hypereutectic rods and pistons. If youre going FI you'll want forged and somewhere between 8.5-9.5 compression

DONT GO FI! STAY N/A! You will make so much more power n/a then FI could ever.

GL with that. I doubt you would find a complete KB kit for under $3500.
kenne bell's are expensive, but the good thing is they hold their value.

you can get more power out of a supercharger with new heads! then you can get a smaller pulley.... a boosted car with better heads will run healthy..... so thats what i would do if your looking for major power but i guess you arent lol

If you are looking for major power, I'd be looking for a new shortblock. A supercharger alone will give the stock shortblock all it can handle. No need to do anything to the heads or cams. Once you get a built bottom end then you can start looking at heads and cams, but that's only after the supercharger.

Why spend $2k for a little power now and $2k for a lot of power later when you can spend $2k for a lot of power now and then spend $2k to squeeze a little more out later?

all im saying is with heads, cams, and a supercharger you'd be running healthy, and if your going to build a short block i would stroke it to a 302

would you buy 40-50 hp for 2,000.00 or buy a 100hp for 2,000.00?

I'll be staying N/A as well, most bracket racers will tell you the same. if you don't spend much time at the track though, just get a blower.

Only problem with this is your gonna need at least another 3 grand for a forged shortblock. You do all that work and youll be way beyond the capabilities of the stock block.

I'm not saying N/A is better than blown.

However, there are some good reasons to stay N/A and maximize your N/A power (speaking as a drag racer now):

1) Simpler is better than complicated
2) Lighter is better than heavier
3) Consistent is better than inconsistent
4) N/A builds have less of a chance of blowing up the shortblock

Well i'm pretty sure most peple around here would like to have a built bottom end, good heads and cams, and a blower. But we aren't all loaded with cash. If you're doing it in steps I'd go with blower, then built bottom, then top end work
