"original" flowmasters?

so i was looking around on craigslist for some different mufflers i could run with my o/r x and saw this.

►►►Flowmaster Mufflers 40 Series 2 Chamber NEW

"These are the original design with only one baffle instead of three, the extra two baffles gives the muffler a raspy tone, these original design mufflers give your exhaust a deeper and more aggressive sound. I have a couple vehicles that i can let you listen to prior to deciding on my mufflers so you can see the benefit from this design." /

is this bullshit or did flowmaster really "change design" at some point or is this just the typical 40 series muffler?? i dont know too much about flowmaster because i really dont like them but 50 bucks new aint to bad..

thoughts....

yea the originals have 1 baffle and are the loudest of the 40 series..i have the delta flow 40 series and it is a more mellow, smooth sound than the original because it has more baffles

Not at all, there are a few different chamber designs, The original 40 series, the 40 series classic, 40 series delta flow, and the super 40. I don't know about the different number of baffles, I have heard guys say they have 1 or 3 chamber 40's but flowmaster says all the 40 series mufflers are a two chamber design.

yeah, for example there are a bunch of different "40 series". original, super, delta flow, etc. i'm rocking the original 40s and love them. combined with an off road or high flow h pipe, you'll have that classic muscle car rumble to it.

I had flowmaster original 40s on my F150. They sounded deep and loud.

I paid $50 each with free shipping from ebay like 6 years ago. they were new also.

Originals are the way to go if you want that obnoxius(In a good way!)"Muscle Car" sound. Nice deep tone but as long as you keep your foot out of it 5-0 won't even take a second look!!
