Funny Problem

SO. I just thought I would post this to let all you guys get a chuckle out of my sorrows. Finally get my car's cam install done and tuned when I realize that my motor is making a metal on metal sound when I drive. Scary thought right?! First checked the valve train.. No problems.. Then did the ole' listen and rev method.. Couldn't pinpoint it. Then it was time for the ole' stethoscope, turns out everything was vibrating? Yea... Fun times. Thought it was the smooth grooved idler pulley, replaced it? Nope. Then we thought it was the whole tentioner assembly, replaced it? Nope. Then as we were stumped at my buddies house we were comparing the setup to my friends car when we had an EPIPHANY.! My friends motor was a Windsor, and mine is a Romeo. and his was an '01 mine is an '04. TURNS OUT... When I installed the Trick Flow intake manifold, my aftermarket underdrive pulleys didnt provide for enough clearance so we switched it out with my other friends '01. Apparently, the harmonic balancer I took off of his '01 Romeo was just centimeters off on size and diameter which was causing a crazy vibration in the front end of my motor. New crankshaft pulley and all is well in the world again.! HA

Yea, when I got the stethoscope around the crankshaft and the vibrations were the worst my heart sank. After a three week install it was finally done and I really didn't want to tear it apart again and check everything again. ! What a relief...
