CAI: Really worth it?

I was looking into CAI intakes. But my question is, are they really worth it or would a drop in filter do just as good?

It depends I mean you can use the money elsewhere and just use a drop in and it would be good also but, 80% of people here use the JLT from what I understand and they like it and some just use the drop in filter and use the money twoards exhaust you'll need that ehaust to maximize the CAI anyways! so if you can use the money elsewhere than just use a drop in!

i had the JLT cai and loved it, but i mean if its one of ur first few mods just put in a filter and save the jlt till u have all other bolt ons to squeeze the last bit o power out of ur car.

+1
With a barely modded car a CAI will not be worth the money.

Better, but still not worth it. Not as a first mod. Not with the restrictive stock headers and the stock four cat midpipe on there.

You're wanting to mod your car, may as well do it because you'll do it eventually one way or another. Just don't expect much.

The best advise I can give you from everything I've ;earned on this site is pick the SC or turbo if you can afford it that you like and plan toward buying what you need to make that happen. That way you don't waste time and money on things you will take off later and have to resell. Plan your build and then build your plan. It's cheaper in the long run.

I always do. I thought I'd leave that sales pitch to you. I'm still not a big fan of the bottle.

I'm an old school Chevy guy and so are my friends. But not the hater type. I like Fords and Dodge's and such but it always worked out that I had a Chevy. So when I bought this stang and caught the mod bug and started talking mods to him he gave me some advice.

Spray it and enjoy it. It'll fly on the bottle for a little bit of cash, anything else will drain your wallet.

Now I see how right he was.

Bullshit. You will F up by up sizing the maf on a NA bolt on, heads and cam car. Aftermarket MAF's are a tuner's worst nightmare.

If that is true why do all these kit include larger MAFs? They are all for stock GTs. I was going to get one when I get my new TB.
