How To: Install a Raptor Shiftlight

I recieved my Raptor shiftlight w/ Launch Control from Casper on Thursday, who really really went out of his way to hook me up. The shiftlight was very easy to install, just uncomfortable.

I chose to mount mine on the cluster, between the Speedo and Tach, at the top, in front of the Directionals and Highbeam signals. Heres the write up

- Disconnect the Negative battery terminal.
- Decide where you want to mount your shift light.

Remove the gauge cluster.

Leave some of the wire so you can pull the shiftlight out if you want to change the launch or shift points. Just zip tie it.

Also remove the silk panel before you remove the Kicker panel.

After that, remove the bolt going to the PCM its a 10mm nut.

Then remove the black cover off the PCM, I forgot to take a picture of that. Just pry the 4 tabs with a flathead. So all the wires are visable.

For the launch control, the white wire goes off the white wire with the orange stripe.

I used 22 gauge wire connectors. I didnt feel like soldering wires, and they came out good.

Dont forget to ground the black wire.

Also, I drilled 2 holes through the Instrument belzel. One to mount the shiftlight, the other was behind to feed the wire through. Sorry for some of the typo's, I can't spell apparently lol.

Looks really good man, I want to do the exact same after I get my white faces. This will definatly help me when it comes time to install a light, reps for the good write up.

Nice write up. You did more work then me. lol. I did not remove the cluster or the shifter bezel.

These are easy ass shift lights to install.

I will add this to the how to thread.

looks like you're more comfortable with electrical stuff now. i'm probably going to order a raptor shift light once my job kicks off.

What color LED did you go w/? I can't decide between Red or Yellow in the silver aluminum housing...

hey man make sure you put that top on there because you will go blind at night w/ it open like that. Those LED's are BIRGHT!!!!

I got a blue one, it lights up the entire car at night w/ out one of the covers that comes with it. BLINDs you lol

Its yellow LED's. I like it. I wanted the black house to match with the instrument bezel.

what gears do you have? you shift pretty high... are you not worried about over-revin or anything?

4.10's. Not with the shiftlight lol. My rev limiter is set at 6,500. I shift at 6,300. My tuner told me too.

damn id rather have 380 shifting as high as I want then 400ish and worrying about blowing my motor.... ugh ford why didnt you put better rods in our mustangs!!!

Lol...You still have the powerpipe? Or did you sell it to someone?

Also, i feel bad more for the 5 speed Mach 1 guys. They got the steel crank, they should have atleast just thrown some better rods and pistons in them.

Quick question before I install. The red 12v wire and the light green with white stripes go to the shift light only right? No need to reconnect back to the saquare gray thing right??

How do you guys have the cylinder selection set?
