Finally ordered engine

For a while now I've been trying to save money for a new engine.

I finally got one ordered...I was gonna go with a remanufactured for 2700 but I ended up with a chance to get a 11,000 mi used engine for 2550. Neither prices include shipping. I decided to go with the used one because its practically brand new. Also I a met mechanic that does side jobs so he is swaping the motor for $650 which i think is awsome.

While my motor has been down, I have been driving a ford explorer...too quiet for me. I can't wait to finally drive the mustang again.

Anyways just thought I would share the joy with you guys.

Well I,ve never had problems with changing my oil. Usually I just change it and go about my business. The last time I changed my oil there was a guy there that used to be a mechanic. He told me to tighten the oil filter hand tight and then 1/4 turn which is not as tight as i usually do it. So i did that and after about a week I heard a knocking noise on the free way. Checked the oil...and there wasn't any. Put oil in it and kept driving it since thats my only car and it lasted a few months and even now it will still start but one night it all of a sudden got way worse and the car would hardly stay running. So i parked it and borrowed my dads car.

Sad how something so little caused me to have to waste all that money. I just sit back and think of all the nice parts I could have bought.

the sad thing is that guy was right, you just hand tighten it then tighten a 1/4 turn, i have been doing that on all my vehicles for 8 years now and i have no problems, maybe you didn't put any oil in it. I think you would of noticed if it leaked out 5 quarts of oil.
