Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach?

First off, Admin, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't move this thread. I've already posted in Clubhouse but few people talk there.

You can get TONS of parts at HUGE discounts.

Any of you guys/few gals going to Mustang Week at Myrtle Beach, SC next month? I'm about 3 hrs from MB and an hour and 15 min from Darlington.

I know I"ll damn well try my best to be down there at least Wed-Fri.
A hell of a lot to do and there's also a couple thousand (good estimate) Mustangs down. You never sleep, be forewarned, because of all of us running O/R H's and X's running the hell outta the main strip in MB.

Tues is the Meet and Great at Planet Hollywood

The fun REALLY begins here.

Wed there's an Auto X event and you get to run a few laps at Myrtle Beach Speedway (.5 mile track) on your own, at you own pace, afterwards is a Burn out contest.
Thurs everyone meets at Hooters, has lunch, then start up a 70 mile ride to Darlington Dragway, it's one hell of a ride, stacked nearly 200 Mustangs deep riding down to Darlington. Usually cruising between 60-80, not REALLY having to worry about cops, how the the hell will they pull over 200 Stangs???
Fri is the huge car show.
Sat is the huge cruise in.

Let me know if you're going, I'd really like to meet up with some of the forum members, talk stangs, down a few drinks, and just have a hell of a time eyeing over all of the sick Stangs and SVT's.

Check out MustangWeek.com for more details (NO I'm NOT advertising, I'm just trying to meet some of our forum members, let them know they can have a heck of a time, and get huge discounts on parts while they're down.

I usually go down for the cruise-in, at least. But this year, I think the Bullitt is going to be in the paint booth around that time.

Is there any other color besides Dark Highland Green?

Seriously though, I'm putting a shaved rear bumper cover on her, shaving the emblems on the front fenders, Cobra front bumper cover, Cobra sideskirts, and Cervini's hood on her, and getting her resprayed. She is photogenic, but in person, the paint needs some help, and I keep tearing up the Bullitt sideskirts with it being so low.

You would have a blast. My favorite part of the entire week last year was running at Myrtle Beach Speedway, around the oval track. The car show and cruise in was rough last year, because it was like 150 degrees on the parking lot surface. I see this year being about the same, it's hot already, so bring plenty of water and some shade with you, because there's not much shade out there.

I spent half the day in my buddy's GT500KR with the air conditioning running last year....... lol

I went last year and I'm trying to go this year with my girl if this freaking rear end doesn't cost me a ton.

Went last year. We hopped in the car and I said to the wife, "Myrtle Beach or Panama City?". She did not know it was Mustang week, so I had to throw in the fact that it was 4 hours to Myrtle and 6 hours to Panama. That made her mind up quick. Thats when I found out you DO NOT just jump in the car and head to Mustang Week WITHOUT RESERVATIONS!!! We ended up driving around 60 miles out of town to a rat hole motel just to find a room. Other than that and the hellatious current at the beach, we had a great time. Just wish we could have all fit in my car for the trip. This year I have my annual 2 week training or I would have reservations already. Really sucks.

I just got back from MB Sunday evening late.. Hot??? What are you talking about???

But yes, do bring PLENTY of water and make reservations NOW. Don't go through the hotels website, cheaptickets can get you the same room nearly $20-40 cheaper/night. That's the route I'm taking after screwing up and booking directly through the hotel for senior week.

If SOMEHOW my Mustang does sell before Stang Week, I'm planning on buying a 76 Kawasaki KZ900 come the end of this week. I may just have to drive it
