Heads and cams or supercharger???
I have a mustang gt that puts down 300 rwhp and just like everybody else I want more. My question is should I do heads and cams like the new trick flow package or should I go for a supercharger like procharger. The only problem I have with the supercharger is that I think I'll have to detune it because of the limits of the bottom end. I'm leaning towards the new trick flow heads and some comp cams. What do you guys think?

Wait, you're putting down 300 RWHP with no heads/cam?

Fast NA Gt is nice, but supercharged GT is faster.

Yes I'm putting down 300rwhp n/a without heads and cams but if I add a supercharger it should add about 150 hp right? That as far as I know (450rwhp) is too much. If I were to add some of those new trick flow heads with some 270 comp cams I think I should be close to the limit of the stock bottom end. I would like to put in the 278 comp cams but I don't think they will fit without some relief cuts in the pistons. I know they say that you can put bigger cams in with the new trick flow heads but what is the largest cam you can fit with the trick flow heads safely? I have 4:10 gears so a large cam is not out of the question.

How are you putting down 300rwhp no cams? or heads? You could be putting down 300hp at the motor...not at the wheels though.
Anyways, supercharger. If you paid for cams, valves, retainers, install (if you had to have a shop do it) you would spend maybe more than building or buying a used s/c kit. Depending on boost level's and what not you should see between 360rwhp-420rwhp..... But no way are you making 300rwhp no heads or cams...sorry man lol. BTW Welcome to the forums

I don't think the dyno is too far off. My best time is 13.3 @ 103 mph and my heavy mustang weighs in at 3900. It's a conv so I'm trying to get a better idea what I should do before I put a roll bar in. Anybody have any luck with those trick flow heads???

My car was dyno tuned at 300rwhp and 330rwtq. I have the dyno sheet. I have a full exhaust system and eveything from an intake manifold to the filter. Also have underdrive pullies and 4:10 gears. I know dyno pulls are not the best measuring tool but besides my 13.3@103 it's all I have. When I got my car my best time was 14.79 and it was stock for the most part.

Post the dyno sheet/and mods done. If you're just rockin bolt on's and a tune there's no way you doing that @ the tire without heads/cams.
If I was you, I'd save a little more and rebuild the bottom end and boost. I eat N/A stangs all day long (no offense to any of you), but boost will make more power and you'll see better response to a lot of mods. I'm looking at headwork and cams and plan on a being somewhere in the area of 600 whp, right now with stock heads, a built bottom end, and 14psi I make 509 rwhp

My local track is not a very good track. My buddy has an 02 gt with an 03 4v cobra motor with 471rwhp and his best time is 12.8
I'm not here to defend my car, I'm here to ask you guys what you think between adding some heads and cams to a stock 300rwhp motor or a supercharger. |

No ones trying to pick on you. Just letting you know theres definatley something wrong.
Also, do a supercharger. The money spent in heads and cams is a lot more than supercharging.

I'll have to scan it or take a pic my dyno sheet then post it. So everybody is saying supercharger huh? But isn't the limit of a stock bottom end around 425rwhp? Doesn't a supercharger add about 150rwhp on a 300rwhp motor? That's 450rwhp if I know my math or am I retarded?

I wouldnt say the supercharger adds 150rwhp...youve gotta work for that.
Matters how much boost your running. Also i doubt your making 300rwhp and even if you dyno sheet reads it i know its not putting that much stress on the internals. You can probobly handle 6-8psi easily

I'm telling you people that it's dynoed at 300RWHP!!! why is that so hard to believe? If the stock motor is 260hp and I've added EVERY bolt-on I could add why can't that add up to 360hp? Full lenght headers add? Off road h-pipe adds? Slp catback add? Intake manifold adds? Intake plenum? Spacer? TB? MAF? Filter? Underdrive pullies? Gears? Etc. Does anybody have full bolt-on with less rwhp? I'm telling you what I have. I'm asking for you help not defending my car. Please stick to the topic. Heads and cams or supercharger on a STOCK 300rwhp 4.6 2v motor?!?!?!?
