a buddy of mine had a 2000 GT with a o/r h and a pair of dynomax mufflers and it was quiet while driving normal like a stock 1 no 2k rpm drone but when he hit the go pedal it sounded nice and deep

The new dynomax mufflers F8L mentioned will make you happy. Not very loud and no drone.

My magnapacks are obnoxious and i set off car alarms. Cause I don't give a fuck about shit ever.

I think you should go with the normal Magnaflows. They sound great and are deep.

I agree with f8l on going with a turbo style muffler, should give you just what youre looking for.

If youre still gonna use the factory mid pipe you could also look into some hooker areochambers. Theyre pretty mellow/quiet at idle, cursing, and fair amount of rpm, but once you stomp on it itll roar pretty decently, nothing too loud, but they do sound much better than the factory ones.

depends on if they were the thrush welded or thrush turbos. Big difference. And by the discription mike gave i say they were turbos which are not a chambered muffler like the thrush welded

I have Magnaflows on mine and they sound good at low RPM's but get loud when you gas it. I'm not sure which ones they are, they were on the car when I bought it. They are round and look like the old Thrush mufflers.
