chapstick is a nice little trick to keep the paint from not sticking, lot easier to just rub on then taping things that would take a lot of time to tape right

The bolts come out when you pull the valve cover, then you just pop out the grommets and youre good to go.

Thanks. Heres a few more for shits n giggles. Also a few of the maf pipe/flange...I ghetto taped it so the maf could get a good seal thats what theres sealer/a rough edge on the top side of the flange. Also looks pretty rough when in the booth bc I laid the clear on pretty hard, that was before it was baked/flowed out. Ones of it on the counter are after it was done.

painted mine when i had the engine/trans out. also did the timing cover. cam covers did get scratched when dropping engine back in. they scratched on the battery tray. i used high temp spray can primer, the closest match base spray can from autozone, and a high temp spray can clear.

When I took the covers off the bolts could slide up and down in the valve cover but they wouldn't come out.. so I have to pop some grommets off first?

I must be weak.. I pulled on them and I thought they were permanent. I turned the cover upside down and none of them fell out.
