Buying new Mustang, I need tips

Im going to see a 2000 Mustang Gt Convertible that I wanna buy, and I wanted to see what you guys think I should look for when testing the car. Its a 5-speed and has 98*** miles.
I need a reliable daily driver, since im a college student and do not have much money to spend on fixing my car.
Thanks in advance

Sounds bout right for almost 100k miles. Can't really tell without checking it over. Just make sure and use that list to check everything.

I think that price sounds about right for the car. But you will know more than we will once you get to see it. You will have to judge how mechanically sound it is along with how well the exterior and interior was kept up on the vehicle.

Yes thats true. I don't care so much about the exterior or interior as I do with the engine running perfectly. are 100k miles too much on these cars? what type of maintenance should I perform when and if I get it?

100k miles is fine for these motors, ONLY if they have been maintained for their whole life. make sure the engine oil has been changed at the right intervals, and all other fluids have been changed frequently. If this has been done then you should have a solid engine.

The 4.6l ford motor was the motor in crown vic police interceptors for years. They take very good care of their cars and they are beaten on as they are a police interceptors. Also, jump in any crown vic taxi in New york, they are all 4.6l and i bet you 100 bucks theres 300K+ miles on the car sometimes even closer to 500k. They still run strong, all they need is that regular maintenance and these engines will last forever.
