Nitrous tank installation tips?

Are there easier ways to go about this without dropping the fuel tank? I just took the brackets out and remember it was a huge pita to get the nuts under the car and above the fuel tank. I'm redoing my trunk and drilling new holes for the bottle bracket bolts to go into on the passenger side. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

I dont think that would be safe let alone pass tech unless the board was fastened down. And since youd have to drill holes anyway why not do it safely?

Why not drop the tank? It takes all of 20 mins.... Just make sure you buy a new gasket for the filler neck.

Isn't it a pain in the ass to disconnect that hose and drop the tank in our cars?

Not if you buy a fuel line disconnect tool. The tank i dropped a few days ago took all of 20 mins.

I have press in nuts for my tank. I dont remember if they came with my nitrous express kit or if I bought them separate. Drill holes, press them in, then bolt the bracket to them.

That sounds like a great idea, can you link me a picture of what these nuts look like? It'd be great if I could just push them in from the trunk!

I am terrible at sending links. I would take a picture but my car is not here with me, and I am leaving for a month on sunday. Im sure someone on here knows how to do it, or have them also. I would try google... Maybe press fit nuts, or press in nuts...

I've googled different variations of a "push on nut" and most of them look like I'd still have to go in from the bottom. These aren't what you're talking about right?

Or what about some large self tapping sheet metal bolts? I really like this idea of going in from the top without having to drop the fuel tank lol

The red one on the right about half way down labled push on nut is similar, but not quite. same concept though. Push in and turn to tighten, then you just use your regular bolt for the bracket.

that might work too. But this concept is the one I used, and now I can tighten and take off the bracket whenever i need to with in seconds.
