throwout bearing or tranny problem?

so while i waited for my rims to come in the car sat around for about 2 or 3 weeks and i started it like 2 times in that period and now my car has a rattle noise when i get to higher rpms or when i downshift into a higher rpm. not really sure if the sound goes away when i push the clutch in havent tried it. the sound has gone away for now but im still worried. any ideas of whats wrong?

When you depress the clutch, you are only disenging the driveline from the input shaft, but all the same parts are still spinning, just not under "load".

Drive it around some more and give us a more complete desciption (from front or back or a deep or shallow metalic sound)...
