procharger with high compression?

i have a p1sc and was thinking about getting a forged shot block(still have stock PI heads). My car is a DD and want it to stay that, but i want the most rwhp as possible. i am running 9-10 pounds right now. how high of compression can i go? more compression less boost?anyone have a high compression motor with a blower?

i wouldn't go any higher than 10:1 with a blower and 10 lbs. i dunno where you live but if they don't have 93 octane you're kinda screwed lol.

Ok, everyone is going to SCREAM at you that you need low compression, but the truth is you don't NEED to.

There is an article about this exact question in MM&FF that you can look up. I believe its called "the multiplier effect". The truth is that your static compression is only part of it. The higher your static compression, the harder it will be to tune the car, it becomes much more sensitive to timing and tuning in general as your static compression ratio rises. however, if you do a Higher static compression, you will have a much better power band. The power band will start lower and your torque will be much better. On the other hand, with a low compression motor, you can throw more boost at it, and have a safer tuning experience.

With a Centrifugal super charger, it is generally good to have a medium compression ratio. The higher static compression makes it easy to build torque and the not so high static also makes it easier to ramp up boost and tune.

You can run high compression but you'd need some good gas and it's not cheap. I just put half tank of 100 octane and costed $50.

I always go easy on my car, but the times i get on it i want to feel it. i dont go to the track a lot but if i do i want to run well. thats why i was wondering if high compression would be okay. as for tunning im okay cause my tunner is very skillfull.

Compression is the key to drivebility and efficiency in a centri blown modular (and of coarse the tune!).

Do the 10:1,run a safe amount of boost, have it tuned safely by a reputable tuner.

For a track setup, you can do an aggressive tune on race gas (or methonol)
