Wiring window switch

It's a Zex window switch and has a green wire that goes to a tach signal. Where's the correct spot to splice in?

Thanks.

you need to have a tach adapter, cause i doubt the zex window switch reads the 12V sine wave pulse of each coil, it probrably needs the 12V square wave pulse that the tach adapter makes.

It can be connected to an individual coil. You program the unit according to the tach signal. I'm unsure of which coil and which wire. The red wire on the coils seems to be the common denominator but....

Try PM'ing VMP tuning in the vendor's section. He installed mine when I got tuned and didn't have any problems with it. I wish I had paid more attention to it when he was putting it in, then I would be able to help you more. He got it done in about 30 minutes. Hope that helps a little...

I'm sitting here on the phone with Comp Cams/Zex....

Can you see where he hooked up the green wire? They're telling me it can go to any coil.

I'm not really sure how he did the install. He's got a yellow wire run to the WOT switch, and a white wire run to the back of the ECU. I am guessing that there is a certain wire on there that he plugged/spliced into that reads RPM's. Like I said I don't really know what's what back there, so it may just be best to give him a call... He's usually happy to help with technical problems. But I also have an MSD window switch, and it is probably a little different than what you have...

Tachometer NOT red or white/lt. blue ac ignition coil or coil pack

This is what we use to get a tach signal for remote start systems on your mustang.

hope this helps

you can go to the injectors but do not use the common wire, use the one that is un-common on each injector.

Thanks, that's what I did. #2 coil, green wire/white stripe. Every coil has a red wire, Zex tech support said go with the "other" wire on any coil.

Underhood wiring is complete, now I've got to get the hot wire through the firewall. I guess it was about 1985 the first time I did that, putting some lights on my Scout. And I've done it for some reason or another every car since. I've never seen a firewall so hard to work with as this one. I have no idea where or how I'm going to get that hot wire through. I'm done for the day. Maybe with rested eyes in the morning I'll see a solution.
