help, two misfire codes wont go away

hi guys i have a 2002 gt with 76000 miles bought it about 3 months ago and i changed the plugs to the stock motorcraft ones because i was told they were never changed. and had a cylinder 1 misfire a few days after but the car never ran any different. problem kind of whent away so i thought. a month later i went out and bought a vortech supercharger kit and installed everything myself and sent the computer to vortech. about a month ago check engine light came again and misfire on cylinder 1 and 6 but the car never ran bad. light comes on maybe once a week so i went out and bought 8 new accel coils and 8 new ngk tr6 spark plugs and gapped them at 32 from what i read on this forum was about right. today i was driving normal and my check engine light started to blink for about 20 seconds and the car was running rough after the 20 seconds everything went away and the car was fine and the light went away. i hooked up my code reader and it had 6 codes stored inside all were misfire on 1 and 6 cylinders. any help or suggestions thanks

accel coils arent really much stronger if at all than the stockers. i would swap coils with one that didnt misfire, and see if it follow's, be first and easiest thing to do. then if problem persist, i would try to close gap to .028 and see if that might cure anything. i would also take it for a dyno tuning sessin insead of sending the ecu out, but thats me personally.

thanks for the info but i think accel is a pretty good name i have always use there plugs and wires on my chevy smallblocks in the past. i did a lot of research about these coils alot of people use them with no problem. if they were bad i think i would be getting a misfire on all cylinders or at least a new one. i can try to re gap the plugs to 0.28. thanks alot for the info. i do think and i am sure i am going to here it is that i need a real tune.

wait, dont get me wrong. i like accell too, i run a lot of their products on my small block stuff as well. i was just stating that their modular coils arent much stronger than the stockers, and weaker than some most the other aftermarkets.

comparing ignition pieces that are touching back 50 yrs on sbf/sbc stuff to modular stuff is like putting pineapples and bananas in the same group

your making this too hard on yourself, you had the problem when the car was stock, so none of the f/i problems apply. most likely problem in this case is the wiring harness plugs at the coils, the wires break inside the insulation sometimes when removing the connectors at the coils. makes the most sense since the problem is intermittent & started with a spark plug change.
