Back on topic and addressing a previous comment cordially - I keep tabs on mpg to keep tabs on engine tune. When mpg's take a dive you know something is out of whack. Same reason you pull the dipstick and check oil level - just keeping tabs on the engine and keeping a lookout for trouble signs.

That's how I ended up with a Stang. I was pricing new 3/4 ton crew cabs and Suburbans. They were so damn much more expensive than my 99 that I refused to sign the note. In short, they were not 20K better than what I already had so I decided to get something fun. Now I've got a paid-for truck that tows my boat and hauls my family and gear to the coast and back and a muscle car too. I did NOT consult my wife. I just did it.

not sure how most people get such crap milage but i get 17 mpg. every one must be keeping their foot into it way to much. im not saying i drive like a grandma cause i get my moments where i get my foot into it even still with the occational flooring i still get around 15 mpg.

Since we are reviving this thread... In the mustang, I average around 17-23 mpg depending on how I'm driving. But in the Vette, I average 25-31 haha. Well, who cares about gas mileage anyway lol.

lmao there has been so much thread grave digging as of recent.
anyways, yea. My GT got about 250 miles a tank with maybe 3/4 driving done in the city, all highway I could get close to 375. So I'm guessing thats 24mph highway? 16-18 city.

With 3.73's in my '04 GT, I've been averaging 22 MPG with about a 50/50 mix of city/hwy. Mine is my commuter car, too. My F150 gets 14 MPG, and the XR7 gets anywhere from 9 MPG to 18 MPG depending on how heavy my right foot is.

Not sure on my exact mileage, but last time I got gas, I reset my trip counter and had to fill up after I hit 245 miles on that tank.

I totaled one of those when I hit it in my old Audi. I spun that tin can around three times but everyone was ok. I saw the new euro spec version at Road America this summer and it is awesome. Ford really upped the trim in all its lines over the last few years. Now the GFs pops wants one of these to commute and a new GT to SC and wants to give me a smoking deal on his 07 GT (he bought it on the fam discount). Sooooo tempted but I just can’t justify it this year. But back to the MPG. I got 16 mpg on the first tank in my car and then the second I got like 13.5 mpg. I was having some fun with the car but I’m wondering if I have a bad 02 sensor. Anyone know if you can test them? |
