500 hp 2v
Just now starting to kick things into gear. I am wanting about 500+ or so with my build. And I figured this would be a good place to get some advice and build lists. I'm thinking Kenne Bell as well. So what are some good lists of an outline for my build (internals mostly) and maybe some cam/head suggestions as well. Thanks!

Yea whats your budget?
With 500rwhp, youll most likley need a new shortblock. You may be able to get away with 500rwhp for a little bit, but everytime you go WOT, youll be chancing the life of the motor. Kenne Bell 2.1 intercooled Kit 12psi Shortblock Fuel Supply, I dont know if youll need a dual pump setup for 500rwhp, but if so then a Cobra Hat, (2) 255lph Fuel Pumps, Kenne Bell 40 amp boost a pump. 60lb Injectors At that point, Id just go return style fuel system though. Blower Cams - Houston Performance s292's ![]() Heads - Ported your stockers, or Ported FoxLakes or Trickflow's Twisted Wedge 44cc heads Idk just some ideas, I dont know what your budget is, or what your goals are for the car

MMR rotating assembly with 17cc or 18cc dished pistons and forged h beams and forged crankshaft. (1300-1500)
ported heads (1000-1200) blower cams (450) and KB at about 10-12 psi (EXPENSIVE) dual cobra pump assembly (300 bucks or so) mafia for your maf or sct ba3000 (150-250) And then bolt ons of your choice but the above would hit 500rwhp. And my prices are assuming that you build it yourself. If paying for built shortblock and to put all of the above together, WOW... expensive! lol

Depends on your budget for sure. Definitely will want a new short block or at least new internals if your putting out that much power.

Budget is going to be your deciding factor obviously.
Aluminator short block $3,315 shipped from LRS. Best bang for the buck IMO. MHS Stage 2 heads w/ choice cam $1995 shipped A KB is going to be some money on top of the above mentioned. |

Also, you need to look into a fuel setup as Shaun & Baker pointed out. Return style would be the optimal setup, but that's more money yet again.
I have over 7k sunk into my single Hellion build with a Ford Aluminator, mildly ported heads, stock cams, dual GT supercar pumps, flywheel, clutch, gaskets & misc items. That's not to mention my built rear end on top of that. I still need a straight through catback exhaust (probably going Magnaflow magna packs), cobra tank, manual boost controller, and a tune. Hopefully this doesn't discourage you on how much it costs to build our cars, but more of a break down of what you'll encounter on your way to 500 HP. return style is no needed if he just wants 500 hp...just use cobra tank/hat and pumps.. shouldnt even need boost a pump and 42 or 60s and be fine... guy down has a 2.1 kb with the hp cams and it really didnt make good power for what he has done..those are more good for a centri blower cam..
i say throw some cams and any kind of blower on there and you will be happy with 470-500 to the wheels...to do a built short block to do 500 hp really isnt worth it to me..

I didn't say he needed a return style, I said it was the optimal fuel system. All other returnless style fuel setup are band aid fixes in comparison, but that's neither here nor there. Yes, dual Cobra pumps/hat/tank will work in his situation. In fact I'll be running a dual GT supercar pump setup on a Cobra hat & tank for now until I can get a return style, but that'll be a bit down the road. I don't recall where the 42# injectors max out at. I'll have to go look again. I want to say 500 on 42's is starting to push them, but don't quote me.

^^^^^so why put all that money in a stroker motor(that really didnt help) blower and injectors and stuff and only run 12lbs...just doesnt seem worth it..

Seeing as how he is ONLY running 12psi and getting those numbers is damn good IMO.

Their street mod 600 motor is $500 less. Seems like even better bang for the buck if you're only shooting for 500hp.

If you want to use a PD blower then get the 2.6, 2.6H or 2.8. The 2.1 is too small and will be near maxed out. You could probably make 50hp more with a 2.6 at the same boost, or get away with more power on pump gas.

The MMR short block doesn't have ARP bolts through out nor a cobra crank. And for $500 more he can take it past the 600 mark if he decided 500 wasn't enough. It's nice to have the room to grow if he wanted. To get the stuff the aluminator has you'd spend way more with MMR. Bang for the buck...I think so.
