How much is a transmission rebuild?

Anybody had this done. I won't be doing this myself, probably Aamco or someone similar.

well seeing both of my mustangs had rebuilt transmissions, i'll give my insight:
-2003 stocker GT: 1300 for a rebuilt stock trans
-2001 s/c GT: 5000! it'll handle 650 hp, 800 if i put in a manual valve body

really depends on the shop. if your stock one needs repair, just pull one from a junk yard, not worth the hassle unless you get hooked up. and buy an aftermarket trans if you have power and need a beefy trans... i got pOWN'd

I must be a nympho cuz i'm always getting screwed.. oy...

There is a guy on here in the drivetrain classifieds (his username is e3sean) who is rebuilding them. I think it is around 750$

Yup... if your car is a stick this is the way to go. If you won't be increasing the hp of your car and just want a stock replacement get a low mileage used trans. A GT/Mach 1 take out will probably only be a few hundred bucks.
