Dyno, and finally running right.

Went to the dyno this morning, again and the guy got it right this time. Im very happy now, all my bolt ons all on now and i posted some nice all N/A numbers...Green line is todays dyno, 326 RWHP, 328 RWTQ...First one was just what it ran un-tuned (304HP) second was before i figured out the stock TB/plenum combo was choking the engine out (316/311).

Next weekend i take another stab at the strip

Re: Dyno, and finally running right.

You can just look at my vehicle in the garage section but, i have FULL bolt ons minus a MAF which isnt necessary imo plus patriot stage 3 heads and comp cams stage 2's. Full bassani exhaust including catless offroad xpipe. I do have a clip of it on the dyno but im waiting for my buddy to send it to me yet. No they arnt corrected numbers, i have bigger heads than most people so have bigger numbers (specifically talkin bout N/A people) compare the Patriot sage 3 heads to the VT stage 2 heads.

Congratulations on finally getting it tuned correctly. Really nice #'s for a n/a 2v. Let us know how the trip to the drag strip goes.

those numbers are pretty high, I could see with stage 3 heads though, just check the dyno - but the important thing was the gain - how much did you pick - that will tell the truth of the situation

Re: Dyno, and finally running right.

Its a Dynojet. I added a 75mm TB and electric water pump in between the 1st and final dyno. What do you mean by corrected numbers? Oher than him correcting the air/fuel ratio, i have no idea what you are talking about.

The first time you went to the dyno your numbers were low because the tune wasn't that good. With the correct tune these are the corrected numbers.

Re: Dyno, and finally running right.

Oh ok, 326/328 then. Pulls very hard all gears, my favorite thing to do is roll down he highway doing 60 in 4th and wait for someone to ride my ass then when they go to pass me i hammer it lol. 60-110 its simply incredible now. As is every oher gear but that feeling is too much fun to lay off. I do still smoke some at idle, but im satisfied with it otherwise and am no giving anymore money to this guy even though he did good, i thought i would get perfection. But all in all $325 for a good tune, with one flaw he said was impossible for him to fix is ok with me.

Re: Dyno, and finally running right.

I runs rich at idle ONLY. Kicks smoke when im idling, annoying but not gunna hurt anything, and ill be able to fix it myself when i start going to school. He had to lean it out all over he power band because i was getting backfires in the intake. It might be just be him, thats the problem, might be my setup, i dont know. I guess ill try seeking a second opinion later on when i can afford it. That and its real lean so my numbers might be a tad bit higher, so much i dont know.

Hell, his corrected numbers should still be pretty high. I'd say 310-315 HP.

With those kind of hp numbers you should easily be high 11s - very low 12s. Post up how you do at the track.

Re: Dyno, and finally running right.

Well im not a great driver, im still learning how to launch. Also i have a problem with my tranny not wanting to shift into 3rd, but i think ive cleared that problem up so, when i get a chance to goto the track again ill definitly post the numbers. I expect 12's but then again i dont have drag radials. So low 13's ahouldnt be too hard with a lil practice.

Why do you say that? I went mid 12s with 293 rwhp. He is stating 30+ more rwhp. Drgnracn72 went in the same range on drag radials and around 300 rwhp.

Heat the drag radials up good, tach it up to 4500 and drop the clutch. If it bogs, add more rpms, if it spins drop the a/p and slip the clutch a bit.
