The 4V means 4 per cylinder two intake and two exhaust. And also the new 2005+ 4.6s are 3V. The 3V is still a SOHC, but it has two intake ports and one exhuast. Hope this helps, and the 3V has turned out to be just as potient as the 4V. One was completely built and I think was probably pushing 700 RWHP rough estimate though.
