Any idea on where to find this part?

I work at a Ford Dealership here in northern Colorado and we just sold this '04 GT convertible yesterday, but I managed to snap a picture of something I really wanted off of it!

I've got the grayish/black plastic dash piece that surrounds my stereo and air conditioning, but I love the look of the brushed silver metallic. I searched throughout our entire parts catalog and discovered that Ford doesn't make this part anymore. I know that the chrome shifter bezel can be purchased from American Muscle, but I can't find these other console plastic pieces anywhere!

Any ideas?

Yeah it is the Mach 1 and also the 40th anniversary package.

Thanks F8L GT! Yeah, now I just need the bottom piece.
The problem is, I can't find both the plastic bezel that surrounds the shifter and holds the 12v, and then the top A/C and Radio unit together. I am only ever finding the top piece. The one you showed me though is the cheapest I've found though!

I may just go check a junk yard and look for a wrecked Mach or 04 GT. But I'd rather not.

its the easiest way to do it, in any color. Krylon does well here plus you can grab it in color match if you want

Yeah, which is why I can't believe I even have to ask. hahahaha. I searched our entire parts catalog, Ford discontinued the part last year. There was one top piece in a warehouse in Maine, but that was all I found.

And yes, I am tossing around the idea of Krylon. You think that would hold well and still have a nice finish and everything?

You prep it right and clean the plastic of the oil/grease from being touched etc and you will never tell the difference. Maybe wouldnt use Krylon, but yeah

Guessing youre a sales guy based off the sig ? Get a hold of a decent guy in parts, have him get a hold of the dealership in ME and have it shipped over, get it at cost + xx% your dealership charges. Was cost + 10% when I was at ford. Simple as that. If you have good relations with the parts guy (which i doubt, as sales guys are disliked by nearly everyone at the dealership...sorry...) they can get a hold of the place in ME that has it, order it for xxxx reason, and its in your hand within a few days, no problem at all, no paying shipping, cheaper than else where, plus oem. Happens all the time dealership to dealership when it comes to transferring parts, especially with foreign cars/hard to get in the US parts.

Krylon = , use SEM or similar.

Take the part clean with wax and grease remover, if you dont have access to any use a good dish soap such as the blue dawn. Scuff real good with a red scuff pad, clean again, then spray with the SEM.

Hey man, I don't mean to hi-jack but since you work at Ford, can you guys at the dealerships order the 40th anniversary floor mats?

Ouch. I actually get along a lot better with our techs and our parts guys than I do many of my fellow sales. We've got about 3 guys on our sales team who are true automotive enthusiasts and the others are just in it for the money. For instance, you'd be shocked at how often we'll be talking about a product, for instance about the new Taurus SHO, and most guys don't know simple selling points or technical facts like the fact that the Taurus shares the same AWD platform as the Bugatti Veyron. Most of them know nothing technical. They know model and engine packages, but not much else. But...those of us on the sales team that are actually enthusiasts that know a little something...we end up selling more cars. Go figure.

And yeah, it's still only 10% over cost on parts. My parts manager Dusty is the one who found the one in Maine for me. I may just try painting it myself and if it comes out wrong, I'll order the top half and then search for a bottom piece.

BML99- I'm out of town right now, but I'll go ahead and check for you as soon as I get back into the office this next week. PM me so I don't forget! I don't see why that would be an issue!

Not quite hot shot, its actually shared/built/mimics the volvo S60/S80 awd system

The Veyron uses a permanent 4/awd haldex system, while the taurus's system is a come on when traction is needed, plus the taurus's awd system doesnt have a limited slip front or rear

But I mean thats what Ford and Volvo both taught me, but Im prob wrong
