How much for a tune up!

What is required for a full tune up on a 99 GT should I take it to the shop or do it myself!

I already have an oil change so i should just buy sparks plugs and fuel filters the only thing I have never done to this car is change the spark plugs is it easy or hard it was simple to change it on my 93 lightning because there all connected and you just pull them out but the stangs set up is different!

pretty much, the back two on the left side of the engine are somewhat difficult, but they arent that bad. be carefil threading the plugs back in though, you dont want to strip out the threads.

also neckbonecat, does your car have plug wires? dont think so, niether does his

Really!?! It doesn't... I mean yeah of course it doesn't. Everybody knows that. Does my experience as a mechanic shine though yet? I guess you learn something every day on this site.

For the plugs in the back on the passenger side you might need a swivel attachment (I did but I also have an aftermarket plenum) also use anti-seize grease on the spark plug threads before ya screw them in

just make sure the motor is cold, changing plugs when the motor is worn causes the threads from the heads to come out with them, trust me on that.

Yeah I just got done changing them out and put in bosch +4, yes it was pretty easy got a few cuts and scrapes but who doesn't and +1 for the cold engine the guys at jegs told me that before I left! also the guy at jegs does dyno tuning on mustangs and he said he do mine for only $40 hr of labor compared to this other shop who charges 65hr-70hr it will be my first dyno tune ever so that will be good ill post the numbers up next week!

I have seen far to many bosch plugs end up rattling around INSIDE the cumbustion chamber...

Everyone I know runs either NGK or Champion...And of coarse motorcraft on the stock cars...
