p1100 code HELP

I had the car tuned last year no issues. Took it apart last winter got it back together and driving starts throwing this code for mass air circuit intermittent. WTF so I sent my mass air back to pmas and he sends it back saying its "fixed" well it still throws it. How can this be fixed? Is it the wiring harness (which I have never heard of one being bad) or is it the mass air?

I would just start with checking all the connections and do some wire testing maybe one got a short during the reinstall

its a supply voltage problem with the maf, make sure its plug in all the way, make sure you didnt bend the prongs inside the connectors, make sure a wire isnt ripped or torn

I have checked everything all is well. I don't get it wish I could just fix it myself instead of going to a shop.

you put a volt meter on the connector to check for available voltage? swapped a stock maf in?

Yes and everything checked fine while car was running and when I revved it. I can't put the stock one in for two reasons in my current setup it would take a lot of work and I don't have it anymore. If it is indeed the mass air I'll just buy a sct ba3000.

Here is the setup if this will help you determine anything

the code is in refernce to the voltage supply to the maf, not the maf itself, theres an electrical problem not a parts problem

try cleaning the MAF. ford MAFs HATE aftermarket air filters, and are notorious for getting some of the oil from the oiled filters on them, contaminating the wire. try that first

According to the service CD for my car, this DTC is set if within the last 40 warm-up cycles MAF voltage changed beyond limits. Thus either a MAF issue or sudden drastic airflow change I would think. The service manual suggests a continuity problem. Either the MAF sensor connectors, harness, or an open/short inside the MAF. While scanning/logging MAF volts, do some wiggle testing on the MAF connector and harness, and tap testing on the MAF itself.

I just got it back from pmas I'll try cleaning it. Is it possible for oil from the k&n filter to make it through all the piping and intercooler to mass air?

unless you happen to have some magical device that seperates air and contaminants equipped between your MAF and your Air filter, yeah. lol. make sure you don't touch the sensor itself, just use MAF cleaner

Well I'll give it a shot if it doesn't work I'm going to go out on a limb and say its the mass air meter itself with a internal problem.

if all your wireing is good i would have to agree and i would rather replace one of those than repair a wiring harness any day

I don't know how much a harness is but I can guarantee you its not cheap. I am about to just buy a sct meter and swap it to my housing. Everyone seems to think its the mass air, can't believe noone else has had this problem.

Well I guess I'll try my luck with a new mass air and if that doesn't work I'll take it to a shop and have it fixed. I don't know what else to do.

I'm frustrated I can't seem to figure it out. I don't know what else to do other than replace mass air.
