forged bottom

what does forged bottom mean. im not really that well with engine parts and their names. but im slowly learning.

it means all the parts rods,and crank are strengthened by the forging process.they are the way to go with blower and No2 engines

keep in mind it excludes the "top" part of the engine, like heads and intake and upper plenum. Its all the parts in the "bottom" like pistons, rods, crank mainly. Forged steel, or forged aluminum or there are different metals used. I dont know much about that though. They're all very strong though.
