Bama Tuning

Hey guys I just recently got a tuning from Bama but I heard from someone that Bama is not as good as they say it is. Brenspeed was mentioned as the better choice compared to Bama.

Have any of you guys had any experiences with Bama and/or Brenspeed?

My friend has an 06 GT and it has the BrenSpeed tuner with the c&l short ram intake, he bought it as a combo and he loves it. The tune really woke up the car.

For a basic email tune (nothing major needed) just about anywhere decent will do. Bama has gone down hill over the last year to year and half. Big names now are brenspeed, brookspeed, and vmptuning.com from everything ive come across.

hmm..well the thing is I bought a SCT SF3 Tuner from American Muscle and so if I wanna change to Brenspeed do I have to buy a new tuner from them and send them my information (what mods I have and which parts are stock) about my car or how does it work?

I remember reading that Bama really messed up this guy's tune and he was putting down 170-ish rwhp rather than 230-240 lol

Well personally I don't have any experience with Bama, but there are a lot of satisfied customers out there. There have been more cases of unsatisfied customers than they'd like popping up lately though.

Use the same tuner, the new company would just e-mail you a new tune that you load into the handheld.

No but you'll have to drive the car for a few minutes before it performs at its best so that the ECU can relearn your driving habits each time you load a new tune.

I've heard the Bama is the best for the Automatic mustangs and that the Brenspeed is best for the manuals. I have a 5-Speed 2009 GT and just ordered the JLT CAI and Xcal3 Brenspeed tuner from Brenspeeds website and must say... I can't imagine ANY other tune doing more than it! From just a 3 minute plug in! Never tried Bama's though, let us know what you decide.. Like anything though, when in doubt, research, research and then when your 100% sure research again! Goodluck!!

I have had no problems with Bama. The one problem I did have was corrected withing a day or so. I wouldn't worry about it myself.

I've been very pleased with my tune from Bama. I had a small problem with it when I first got it and they worked with me to get it resolved quickly. The car pulls much harder now.

Lock up a tune, what are you talking about?

This thread comes as a shock, as we've had nothing but positive feedback throughout various forums. Do a search about our tuning on MustangForums, AllFordMustangs, etc. I have personally seen 1000's of positive reviews, and recent polls where we are the authority in custom tuners.

We have all of the custom tuning staff/research/development/equipment/vehicles on-site, and over the last year, Bama sales have been climbing, and so has the amount of people in the Bama team. Myself and Mike Wilson have completely re-vamped AmericanMuscle/Bama's tuning department. You might have been reading about Bama before it merged with AmericanMuscle.

We ship all of our custom programmers within 2-3 business days, offer free tunes for life and phone support including remote access of your computer in the event you need us to help load tunes, datalog, etc.

We've gotten back THOUSANDS of dyno graphs proving that our tune files are working. Here's a few threads that you might want to reference that have a VASTLY different view of our tunes than this thread:

a lock up tune is just that, a converter lock up schedule modification (ie. 2nd/3rd gear lock up) & no one told me about it, I called there myself & was told modifying a lock up schedule is too hard & you guys wouldn't be intrested.
lock up schedule mods can be critical in an automatic drag car & thats why I spoke up in this case.
if you guys have changed your outlook on automatic car tuning then make shure it gets out there would be my suggestion.
I can't speak to anything else in your tuning program, but from my PERSONAL experiance with AM/Bama tunes, I can say they are not for 99'-04' automatic guy's at this time.
again if things have changed then make a point of mentioning it.
