NEW TRACK TIMES (1/4 mile) + VIDEOS!!!

OK guys so first time at the 1/4 mile tonight. I went with 3 goals; to beat 13 seconds, to beat a z06, and to beat 2.0 60' times. I am very pleased to say the least. I am a new driver and I know I wont be "on point" with any of my times. I set very achievable goals.

Anyways, ran 3 times. Won each time Here they are:

vs. Ford Lightning: (Im # 47)

vs. z06: (im # 47..)

vs. head/cammed camaro ss:

Overall.... I am satisfied with my results. It turns out I still don't know how to launch a car.... and that reflects my consistent 2.1 60' times. I am buying a set of front drag springs for sure. Maybe even rears.. we will see.

I am also happy wiht my 4.10's actually. I was crossing the finish line each time a 6k rpms... pretty good timing. If I can work on my launch and hold my gears out longer I will be set.

What do you guys think? I know I should of run better, but like I said... I am new. First time at the 1/4 mile. Just learning the ropes

P.S. I think its badass that I am REQUIRED to wear a helmet when racing my car now

Congrats man! Awesome. Your trap speed it good, although I could see it higher. I trapped at 117mph with 385rwhp.

As far as launching, youll learn. Heat the NT555R's up til you see smoke at your window, then hold it for like 2 more seconds.

Then launch at like 2500rpm, and dont dump the clutch, let it up quick. Otherwise youll spin or do some damage.

Very nice. With some more practice, you will be low-mid 12s no problem. Based on your trap speed, if you can get that thing to hook off the line, high 11s are not out of the question.

edit: it just proves that just cuz you have a fast car doesnt make you a fast driver.

the only problem i see is if you get that thing to launch well you will prolly end up running out of 4th gear.

He should be fine with a 26" tall tire.

Damn that z06 driver sucks! You need to work on the 0 to 60 ft big time. Your trap peed looks very good.

Very nice. You should have no problems getting into the 11s with a good launch. I was trapping at 109 and 110 and I really don't think i was driving the car as hard as I should, with a crappy 60 ft as well. Trust me its a learning experience.
