that pretty much how you do it. for the really caked on stuff you can spray, let sit, scrub, and then rinse.

for really caked on crud, use a screw driver or scraper to get what you can off and then loosen it up with brake parts cleaner, but be careful where you spray it, that stuff is very potent and dont get it on the paint

Make sure you cover ALL your electronic crap first! I just cleaned mine yesterday and basically, i just used dry paper towels. Most dirt is actually just dust, but if youve got caked on shit, use that degreaser. Just cover ur electrics first

I'm thinking that's key, because I just sprayed degreaser all over the whole engine yesterday, let it sit about 15 minutes, and rinsed. It got some of the stuff off. But the 1/4 inch stuff? forget it. It should be fun, raising up the car and getting right underneath it and spraying that stuff. yum, yum, I can almost taste the goodness...

Don't worry about covering anything just spray it on and let it sit, then spray it off. I personally use a coin-op wash you can do ti for 2.50 and have access to high pressure water.

So you don't have to worry about any wires or anything getting wet correct?

yeah if you had to worry about stuff under the engine getting wet you couldn't drive in the rain, but on the foxes if you have a distributor cap you might wanna be careful not to get it wet or you will be sitting a few hours for it to dry.

Cover the dizzy and keep the nozzle away from any connectors. As far as not being able to drive your car in the rain if you have ever looked under the hood of a car, any car the top of the motor is not soaked.. Just be mindful of electronic connections...

YUP not like the old motors with points and distrbiitor caps. I like spray the stuff on than ease on down to the local car wash, and spray the stuff off. ya get under the car, around power steering pump. Keep the Gunk off the paint it will haze clear coat.

the other day I did the coin-op thing, I was really scared I was doing something wrong though cus i hadn't done it before...right when I turned it on again, I heard a loud but short squeak, pretty high pitched...is that normal?
it runs fine and all but i'm just wondering...the engine was pretty hot when I did it, does that matter?
