Drag Radials

so after a trip to the strip this past weekend, i got mad enough of 2.1+ 60' times on street tires and bought a new set of mickey thompson 275/40/17 drag radials to stick on my spare wheels....

now, with 78k miles on my STOCK clutch... STOCK axles... and STOCK spider gears(which i have had several friends break on dr's)... is it worth going ahead and playing on them for a few passes, or just waiting and upgrading the "stock" stuff?

In all honesty, the clutch is my biggest fear, i can get another set of spider gears fairly cheap, and the axles are my least concern of the list...

gimme some input

I dont' know what kind of power your makin, but with the same tires on my Mach, and launching with a 125 shot, I haven't had any problems yet....I've also made probably 15 passes on the dr's and nitrous.

Like I said it depends on your mods.

the clutch is probly gonna be the weakest link if its the stock clutch. so therefore the gears and axles will probly be ok until you buy a good clutch

i slightly twisted my inputshaft last year n/a on slicks and just broke another trans (i think input shaft) on nitrous. i am on an upgraded clutch and it hits very hard! white99stang hasnt had any problems with his trans and he has a lot more than me. maybe it is just my luck.
