It all depends on the quality of the work. If the tubing isn't Mandrel bent don't bother. Who custom made it?

If you're planning on adding LT's .. I think the magna packs sound like dookie esp with an O/R X .. they will be so raspy on the rebound ... shop around there are alot better combos out there ...

LT's are short for Long Tube Headers

O/R X or H stands for Off Road ( Cat-less ( NO CATILYTIC CONVERTERS ) H or X Pipe .. which are two forms of mid pipes, your mid pipe is what connects your headers, manifolds to your mufflers !!!

most muffler shops use a regular tubing bender, well in the bend the pipe gets compressed and the outside of the bend stretchs resulting in wrinkled pipe sometimes (thats the easiest way i can explian that) and it restricts air

mandrel bent pipe the pipe is the same diameter in the bends as it is in the straight part of the pipe, its a form of tube bending. (easiest way i can explain that with out writing a full page of crap) which doesnt restrick air flow as much

I was looking at the same setup for mine except a catted X. The shop here in cali was asking 500. I would see if you could get the price lowered a bit. seems a little high.

Why would you buy a custom mid-pipe intsead of a bolt on that is made to fit you model car and is mandrel bent? If the metal tubing is bent incorrecty it will cause the air flow through the piping to not follow smoothly which would defeat the purpose of a after market mid pipe. It may actually hinder your car's performance.

Well it's your money. I guess you should invest it the way you feel is best.

I agree that an aftermarket mid pipe is better. And I dont know of any shops local to me that do mandrel bending. You might be in the same boat there as I am.
From what I understand they fill the pipe with sand and then bend it. The sand keeps the pipe from wrinkling in bends. I guess theres just not much demand around here for that, or either I'm just not looking in the right place. But I would buy after market anyhow probably. Seems cheaper and I don't have to waste my time on that idiot at the muffler shop

$810 for full exhaust minus headers?

tell that dude to take a hike. Shop around man find you some used stuff, just as good and a fraction of the price.

Let me be straight up here, if you like flowmasters, save your money and find a shop that carries, pro sound mufflers. (coming out the closet here but i dont care really) Thats what I have pro sound mufflers. Mine were $100 installed. And nobody that has ever heard my car knows the difference. Its all about the sound really right, cause lets face it neither you or me are making enough power to need a straight thru designed racing muffler. I will say that they probly wont last as long as a flowmaster but for the price I dont care really!

I like my straight through Magnapacks, thank you. I would never buy Flows, because I don't see the point of buying after market exhaust if you are still going to sound like the masses. My magnapack exhaust was $380 shipped and my Bassani X was $461 shipped. Both are SS and were installed together for $120. Mine may be a bit more expensive, but I know I got quality SS parts and I love the sound of my exhaust.
