That's a great time for a stock GT. Congrats on the run... Get some slicks and take off the front anti-sway bar and you could get really close to 12's. At least the magazines did!
What was your MPH also? |

100.85 is just about right for that time, what was the 60' time, and 1/8th time and speed. All this info can help determine what you would need to work on to get a better over all time. If anything!
Like I said before, that's a great time for a stock GT.

Not going to get to 12s at 100 mph IMHO. Get a better launch on some stickies and you could go deep in the 13s. Very nice time for a basically stock GT. What track is this at? Keep up the good work.

thanks guys!...this is in florida at bradenton motor speedway..you guys dont even know how happy i was when i made the 13.8. the past times i ve taken it to the track i could only pull out a 14.3 at my best, and now i learned how to launch it and bam! were off at 13.8
this guy has the same car as me but has a intake, headers, exhasut, diablo tune, and can only make a 14.1 at his best. |

I would like to got the that track, I'm in Riverview FL and the only track I have here is the road to my house, no posted speed limit and 1/2 mile of desolated dirt/greens. I have 4.10's, K&N CAI with the biggest filter I could find, Full Exhaust (LT headers with 3" to tips), ported and polished 75mm TB/Plenum, autolite 103's, steeda UD pulleys, and Diablo Dynoe'd. I'm also using royal purple in the engine. What should my times look like?

I've never launched with a purpose before, just for fun. I spin a lot for the tires I have. I have BF street drags and still spin all the way to second gear...

13.8 is a very good time for an almost stock GT. i'd be happy with that if i were you
best ive heard is a 99-04 GT running 13.6...i dont believe it though. high 13's is very very good, its usual for people to see low to mid 14s

You want to know how to race, first thing is it takes practice on learning how to slip the clutch. Hell i cut a 1.79 60ft with stock tires slipping the clutch. But here are some tips
1. Air front tires up to 45psi, rears down to 23psi 2. remove front sway bar, rear seat, spare, jack 3. Bring the rpms up to 4500 and when the light turns green don't dump the clutch, let it out with a smooth motion and see if the car spins. It kinda takes some life away from your clutch cause your always keeping pressure on it but it does work. 4. Shift your ass off, oh and another thing DO NOT go thru the water box, go around it the just spin the tires for like 5 rotations, no smoke just to clean the tires off.

I wasn't trying to mislead you about getting close to 12's. I think you will get close, but my definition of close is a 13.3. With a 60' at 2.1 you've got a lot of improvement there waiting on you. Look into some M/T drag radials, they'll help out a ton.
