Speakers went out?

I have a 2000 GT and I noticed today my right side speakers went out. I started hearing a pop like sounds coming from the right side with no music. I but the balance on all the way to the right and heard no music and an occasional pop. When I put the balance on the left I hear the music perfect but only from the left side.

What is the problem?

you can try doing that but from my experience a popping sound is distinctive to a amp going bad or already bad, if the speaker is bad and you turn the bass up a little you will hear something along the lines of a "crackling sound" then you have a blown speaker.

Sounds like a blown speaker to me. If it were an amp issue it would affect all the speakers running off that amp. Check ebay. There always on there cheap or you can use this opportunity to up grade.
