help lay out an engine build 4.6 2v

ok guys i was thinking about trading my 351 supercharger fox for a 02 custom flame job gt mustang with only 40k miles very nice car... anyways if i do trade i wanna be able to ride it around with around 500-600 horses under the hood. so my question is how can i make that 4.6 2v motor turn that kind of power? what road could i take? i am thinking some type of boost is gonna have to be applied and maybe some cams heads so on... thinking of a twin screw cus i love the sound. something like a tork tech... maybe .... anyways throw some engine builds at me... or at least get me thinking on some clues help me build something nice. all ideas are open except motor swaps wanna do this 4.6 2v just cus i think once ya start swapping your taking money from an engine thats already there to be built... thanks for the time

Find an aluminum block, get forged internals from a reputable place, then have a machine shop do the machine work and put your shortblock together. Get some decent heads like from MHS and cams (HP292's are popular) then slap a big Kenne on top of that thing and shoot for the moon.

Get a Navigator motor (5.4 with the 4v heads)

Port the heads, forge the bottom end (mmr has kits) then get a sullivan intake/ cobra R intake and push out like 350-400hp N/A then turbo it and make a street beast.

Pretty much everyone is going to say the same thing..

1. Forged internal shortblock
2. Some boost of course
3. Cams
4. Heads
5. Intake

You can make the power with just the Forged Shortblock and Boost, but it's better to have the supporting parts as well. I would atleast suggest getting good valve springs and cams for the combo. The cams will help alot. It's my next engine upgrade

So he wants a 4.6 2v and you suggest a 5.4 4v...?

I got the DSS pro mod. Seems to be a good shortblock. I am still breaking it in though

yeah he doesn't wanna do engine swaps. His best bet is going to be a stroker kit and ported heads.

I wouldn't wait for any heads to come out, I wouldn't even spend the money for the trick flows that are currently on the market. Just pick up a set of ported stockers. Stock unported heads can go to 500-600 safely with boost, cams, exhaust, and bolt ons. Some stage 2 or 3 ported stockers like from MHS or something like that would be fine.

The MHS heads are nice. RFM has them on his car and it pulls really fuckin hard.
I'll be getting the new trickflows for my car eventually, there made for big ci mod motors and high boost motors.

Make me so excited.

Also we dont know his budget. If he wants to buy the best heads on the market thats up to him

His justification is that he doesn't need to buy a block. He has a perfectly good block in the car that just needs new guts.

Very true, budget is a big factor. I just figured since he wasn't in to motor swaps or 2v/4v swaps that he was on a somewhat tight budget. If your budget allows for it and you want to stay 2v get the new Trickflows coming out for sure.

I dont beleive so. I think there the same quality internals we have. Seeing as i doubt ford expected us to get ahold of them lol.

But boost one of those and power will be through the roof.

I can pick on up for $250 at my local yard
