im tinting my tail lights today, and i have sanded then down and everything...
i just cannot decide if i should tape off my reverse light or just tint the entire light...
convince me one way or another

I had to go out to the garage and look at my tail lights before I could vote. I think leaving the backup light clear would leave it functional and still look good.

It depends on how dark you wanna tint them. If you wanna do them light then don't do the reverse light but if you wanna make them dark then yes. Also another thing is how valiable is that reverse lighting to you cause when you darken that reverse lens their won't be much light shining thru to see behind your car while backing up.

i vote tape it off. It'll set you apart and add a little style to the car if you ask me.

That's a fact. I was with a friend when he borrowed his son's truck. We were driving down some back roads at night. Everytime he hit the high beams the headlights appeared to go out. Put them on low beams and they came back on. I got out to check what was going on. His son had darkened the headlights so much that they simply didn't work. We were driving on the fog lights which, of course, turn off when high beams are on.

I don't like tinting headlights, because you need them to drive at night. Smoked headlights, are something else. They're still fully functional. Just darker appearance.

you could be like my last stang and tape one off and not the other taillight :p lol. Previous owner did it..if you look close ones white and ones tinted..DROVE ME NUTS! good thing i gots me a cobra now

I ended up taping of the reverse light...
2 coats of vht is on, and thats probably how i am going to keep it.

i just need to sand and clear from here

you should get some LED brake light bulbs so the tint dont affect the visibility

actually i might do that, i bought these light off craiglist so i had a secondary pair, but they didnt come with all the lights.. so since i need replacements, i could look into those.
how much do they cost?

i didnt tape off my reverse light because one always looked tinted because the chrome on the inside of the back left light was chipped off so i tinted them so you cant notice it anymore we need pics of your lights!!!
