2001 GT Mustang Dyno Tune :(

Ok two things.

1, Need to put some high flow cats on the bbk xpip ooo wow way to loud.

2, Had a dyno tune done this weekend, and was a little sad, the best he was able to get out of the car was 235-RWHP and 275-RW Torque,

I know they come stock 260 horse power and 302 pounds-feet of torque, but that is not at the rear wheel. Just thought with the mods it would have helped out more

Mods:
2001 Mustang GT Auto
Mods I have on now are:
Cold Air Intake
BBK 75mm TB
BBK Plenum
BBK XPIP no Cat
Flow Master 40 Series
410's gears

Sounds about right for what you have I would of expected somewhere around 240-245rwp but yeah the thing about the TB and plenum is you dont necessarily get any good gains from them without heads and cams also a 75mm has been proven to be too large for our cars when they are basically stock sometimes losing HP if not losing Hp only getting small gains compared to what you would get running a 70mm TB. The next thing I would do if you plan on adding more to your car is getting a set of headers many people have said this before you want the most air you can get coming in and at the same time going out headers would open it up and you should see some nice gains with your setup.

Yeah some LT heades, pulley's and a better tune should also open things up a lil more I have a friend with your exact set up that hit 244.9 rwhp and 289.3 rwtq untuned without LT headers or pulley's on!

You do realize that even with the cats, once you get the LT headers it's going to open the sound up a bit more, right? Sometimes you just gotta tell the neighbors to deal with it. :wink

sorry for the late response, but yes my 2001 gt is an Auto, but yes thought if i put on some high flow cats, not sure if there is any difference in high flow from one to another. but thought if i did get the headers next they would help out some, and might just bring it back to where it is now,but then i would have more power .

also.... since you have 4.10 gears, i believe that the readings you get will be slightly lower than what they would be with stock gears, since you are "gearing down" the rear wheels

NOOOO.... you def. didn't rob power, I'm saying the NUMBERS are lower on the dyno.... I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I read it somewhere.... I'm saying with 3.27 gears, you may have had numbers a little higher (like 240-45), but that JUST A NUMBER.

the gears helped you more in acceleration than any other mod you've got.... I dropped .4 in my 1/4 mile with 3.73's, so your going to be a little better still with the 4.10's.

o ok cool i understand now. i have been riding around some to try and go up next to another mustang just to see how the 410's would do. i can tell when i get on it now, it pushes pretty good, put a smile on my face and i can still drive down the highway, not as fast but i can still do 6 with out getting the rpms up to high. i did get some rear suspension stuff upper and lower trailing arms added to the rear to help out with the tire spinning.

I've got and auto GT with the stock 3.27's and was thinking of putting 4.10's in mine. Can you tell a big difference when you stomp it? And what kind of rpm's do you run at about 70?

o yes i was able to tell the difference, from the stock 327 to the 410, now for gas, mmm still testing that one out. before i did the diablo tune and the gears. i was doing like 70mph at about 1800 to 2000 rpm, and getting an avg of 285 miles per tank. now after the tune and the gears i am doing about 56mpr at 2000rpms. but for gas, i can see i am using more, this is still a test tank, because the frist two i was out playing around some . but just guessing i might hit about 250. not sure why since i am driving at the same rpms as i did before i did the tune and changed out the gears. but in a few days i can repost and give you more info on what i got out of this tank. hope that helps some.
