What pulleys and accessories do you use? I have a 94 Mark 8 4.6 going into a 01 GT. I also vote in favor of making this subject as a great tool for future people doing this conversion.

maybe a list of all the extra components needed, or little tweaks that need to be done, that would make it easier for people compiling a to-do/to-buy list.....

you will use the stock mark viii pullies and alternator. your 2v power steering pump and ac compressor will swap directly over so there is no need to completely remove and drain those. i left both of those hang when i pulled the motor (with the exception of the ac because i chose to delete that completely)

Awesome! I did an almost identicle swap into my 01 GT, the b heads respond really well under boost unfortunetly for me my timing chain crawled and destroyed just about everything. Maybe it should be known that there needs to be a pilot bearing put in the crankshaft aswell since the mark 8 was auto if its goin into a manual. A buddy of mine forgot in a swap he did had some nasty vibrations without it.

Did you have clearance issues with your heater core lines hitting the passenger valve cover? I actually had to slightly bend the piping up to clear it.

no i actually didnt. i had alot of trouble getting the motor in because of how tight it is at the back of the motor and the firewall. there is no room back there at all (that really is an understatement) i'm real glad i cut the lines off down low and let the hoses hang before putting the motor in, otherwise i dont think i would have gotten them on. its a must to cut the lines before the motor goes in though as i'm sure you know lol.

haha yeahhh if i remember rightly i asked you what you did about the heater hoses ![]() actually i'm 100% sure you did. you sent me some pictures too and i gave you some reps for it. i tried the 2v coils like you did with the 4v boots and springs and that failed miserably for me. still cant figure that one out. once i went to 4v stuff, everything worked. maybe the 4v coils produce more voltage or ??

Quick question, what size injectors come in the 97-98 Mark VIII? Are those the 24lbs or 19lbs?

19lb/hr are on 2v engines and 24lb/hr are on 4.6 4v's from 93-98, The termi has 39lb/hr injectors and the lightning uses 42lb/hr injectors

Injector size----------Max engine hp
19-------------------304 24-------------------384 39-------------------624 42-------------------672 83-------------------1328 for 45psi fuel rail pressure and 90% injector duty cycle numbers may be off a little bit but should be within +/-10hp

Will a 99-04 cobra intake manifold still fit a 98 Mark VIII engine? or would I be better off with a 96-98 intake mani? Thanks guys, sorry im gonna be asking alot of questions, presently acquiring all the parts I need...
Edit: Will all parts interchange between the 96-98 and 99-04 cobra engines, im referring mostly to the throttle cable, headers, EGR Tube and such, thanks again Last edited by HurrycaneStang; November 6th, 2010 at 09:42 PM. |

96-98 B Heads are different than the 99 and up C heads. 97 -98 Lincoln Mark 8 Intake isnt bad but im sure the 96-98 Cobra is better but by how much who knows.
