2v TrickFlow Intake Manifold Dyno Results are in!

In the June issue of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords they take a stock 02 Gt with catback exhaust add the new trickflow intake and the results are really nice. The Torque is what impressed me most.

Stock 02 GT
Max Rwhp=235.69 @ 4,900rpms
Torque=248.21 @ 5,100rpms

TrickFlow Manifold
Max Rwhp=248.99 @ 5,300rpms
Torque=269.56 @ 4,300rpms

Brief Dyno Chart (skips around cause I didnt feel like typing it all but you get the point)
Stock Gt
RPM----- Power Torque
1,700----- 73.55 75.22
2,000----- 92.74 95.12
2,500----- 118.40 121.58
3,000----- 146.03 151.84
3,500----- 179.07 177.99
4,300----- 222.51 222.82
4,900----- 235.69 246.05
5,100----- 233.22 248.21
5,300----- 228.93 248.16
6,000----- 211.60 232.11

Trick Flow
RPM----- Power Torque
1,700----- 73.84 227.17
2,000----- 96.23 252.70
2,500----- 121.98 256.26
3,000----- 150.47 263.42
3,500----- 181.82 265.26
4,300----- 220.70 269.56
4,900----- 243.72 261.24
5,100----- 247.50 254.89
5,300----- 248.99 246.74
6,000----- 233.86 204.53

22 More HP at 6,000rpms

Trickflow Intake Manifold Looks very promising but if you have a cold air kit and upper Intake Plenum prepare to resale because both will be useless trickflow includes a inlet pipe with the manifold and the plenum is built into the manifold. This Manifold Looks very good I would really like to see the results with Heads and cams. Now im thinking very hard about getting this as my next upgrade.

uses standard throttle bodies but in the article it says they are working on (im assuming an adapter) to accept the oval bullitt style tb's.

Yeah I hope someone here buys one soon. Or if anyone here sees a post on another site where someone has bought one let us know what they say. Im really intrested in this intake just not intrested in dropping that kinda cabbage on an intake, when I can spray and play for less and get more.

Everybody knows that it will be better than a normal PI intake, but the real question is will it be worth the extra coin for the extra horsepower!

This is coming from trickflow it is suppose to produce 10-20% more power than the bulitt intake does with a power adder or heads and cams.

If there going from a competely stock setup to a intake manifold, upper plenum, and cold air intake all at the same time then those gains arent as impressive. You can probably pick up 10 RWHP with a CAI, upper plenum, 70mm TB and a stock intake. That much torque at 4300 RPM is nice though.

I bought a used Typhoon on ebay for $400 and ported and gasket matched it. Bought a used, stock plenum for $10 and ported it to match the intake and a 75mm TB. It wont be on the car for a few more weeks and i probably wont have it dyno'd for a while but i'm hoping for a good seat of the pants horsepower increase.

I was over at modular depot a few mins ago and the guys on that forum are flaming this intake bad. Even a guy said the testing was done at his shop spoke up and he got flamed. Someone has their numbers crossed or misprinted apparently. BTW I seen alot of good stuff on that site. Especially about the PI conversions.

those manufacturers pay those magazines to run those adds so of course they're gonna make it look like it performs well. like white99 said, it's better to see a few more "actual" dyno numbers from a few people before you go and stick something on your car that might make less hp than a cheaper unknown company.
