Best Plenum and Throttle body for the money?
I'm wondering what your opinion is for a plenum and throttle body upgrade? Not sure about the brands and dependability. I currently have a typhoon intake, comp xtreme energy cams, comp cam gears, beehive springs, underdrive pulleys, custom tune, ported and polished heads with a valve job, and not much else (actually, some of this will happen in the next couple of days while in the shop). I've also considered changing the gears, but I need advice on that too.

Most guys will say get the BBK 78mm TB/Plenum combo. For the setup you have, or will have, I'd say get that. As for gears, I'd get 3.73's minimum, but I'd go higher with 4.10's.

What's the difference with the gears? I drive this car often on the weekends and may have to turn it into a daily driver once spring hits. What is my best option?

4.10's for a daily driven stock motor stang. 3.73's for a more wild built car that wont make it down a 1/4 mile.

I think Roush has a 75mm tb for 100 bucks and the trickflow plenum doesnt seem to bad.

I have the bbk 78mm t/b plenum combo. I love it, and for the price it was good. But I bought it because I want to go F/I. But I am just running it with a good tune at the moment. You need to keep in mind that if you get the BBK 78mm t/b and plenum, you will need to get a CAI because the stock intake system wont fit around that big of a t/b. Just food for thought. But anyway, lots of people will say its "too big" but I know a few people with the bbk that run it and are fine. Including myself. I believe Sharkbait has one as well.
Here is my BBK-

For the price, you cannot beat the 78mm BBK unit. You just can't....... unless you find an awesome used deal on something else. I got my BBK for $200 shipped NIB of another forum member.

I'll add one more +1 for the BBK 78mm TB/Plenum. I run one and have been pleased. The hardest part of the install is getting the intake coupler over the TB opening. It's best to put it on the TB first and then slide the intake tube in last. Just take your time and try not to get frustrated with it.

about the gears...what tranny do you have? If it's a DD with an auto, 3.73's might be the better way to go, but with a stick, 4.10's are probably the better option with the taller 5th gear

I have an auto tranny with a shift kit, heavy duty bands and gears, and a 2200 stall. Why would the 3.73 gears be better? I'd like to be able to drive this car on the highway and it may be a daily driver for awhile. What do you think?

You are ass backwards with that whole thought process. Running 3.73's in an auto car is like running 3.08's in a 5-speed (learned that one from tbird). For DD purposes, a 5-speed with 3.73's is better, and 4.10's are a must in an auto car regardless if it's a DD or drag car.
