Loosing Tire Pressure

I drive my '02 GT Convertible about once per week. I have the stock wheels and tires (Dunlop Eagle GT, i believe). Every time I pull the car out I notice the LF and LR tires have lost 10 -12 pounds of pressure. At first, it was only the LF, but I rotated it to the rear and now both tires are loosing pressure. I took it to my local shop, they submersed it and could not find a leak anywhere. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be? Or has anyone had this problem before?

You got a leak. Thats about the end of it. You proboly have a slow leak that will leak under the cars weight so removing it and subersing it wont find it. Id spray some soapy water on the edge of the wheels and tires when its on the car and look for bubbles. Find it, marke it and take it to the shop. It could be because you have a bent wheel that isnt sealing.

Have them break the tire down and reseal it. You may be loosing air around that seal only when driving. Tires loose some pressure in cold weather but not that much.Tighten your valve stems as well. Good luck.

I lost pressure out of my tires at about the same rate. It was a bad bead seal and the tire company just had to reseal the tires.

Sorry, I have been away from the Board for a little while.

Anyway, Thanks for the help! I will try the soapy water technique and try to find the leak.

Thanks Again!

I have a bent rim on my taurus that can only be seen when the tire is off... so after a week or two you can see the tire getting low

But wherever its coming from its a leak..

You pretty much have to over inflate a tire to find a small leak. Sometimes all you see is a bubble form on the surface of the tire instead of the steady stream of bubble most people look for. There are only four things it can be: small hole, valve stem, bead, or a small crack in the wheel. It is most likely one of the first three. Unless you have a lot of nails laying around, since it is more than one wheel I suspect the bead. If nothing else have them break it down, reseat it and put a new valve stem in it.

Edit: I've seen tires that have a big nail completely through them not leak very much because the nail seals the hole. I'm assuming you did a complete visual inspection including the sidewalls.
