Any idea how much it would cost to have the line replaced by a mechanic? I have a little money in the bank... but i dont want to break the bank getting this replaced by someone else.

Hm I'll talk to the guy at advanced or autozone and see if they know about doing this.

hmmm its not gonna be much really, i mean damn i wish i was closer lol id just make you one. idk id find some random mechanic that you can cut a deal with cuz any name brand place that is popular whatever you are is gonna probably make it into some big deal and charge you a F*** ton. like i said and some others have to see if a junkyard has a 00' gt and just get it off that and replace it yourself, might take a while but atleast you would learn some stuff along the way

lol i totally just said to do 2 different things in the same thread. if your not comfortable enough to do it by yourself, get some one else. if your a do it yourself do the second half of what i said and take pics along the way if you have to take shit apart so you know how it goes back together.

I've got about 300 sitting in my savings, think that would get it done for me?

if it takes 300 to get this line replaced then im gonna be really surprised. it shouldn't take near that if they can splice it together. just depends on how you splice it and if whoever does it knows that the hell they are doing. your not in NC are you????

MrBigJeep's guy prob used compression fittings, which you arent suppose to use on brake systems. Ive never done it, just going on what ive heard for years and years and years

I forgive you ha. Ok I'll call some mechanics tomorrow and see what kinda deals i can get on getting it replaced. I might just do it myself. Advanced sells 6ft pieces for like 7 bucks. I could buy like 5 or 6 of those and some more brake fluid and be good to go.

yea 86er is right autozone and advanced are only good for maybe cleaning supplies for your car, the CALIFORNIA DUSTER LOL (best damn car duster i ever purchased), and maybe oil filters and oil. as far as car parts go fuck them. they gave me a rebuilt alternator that was supposebly "good" and my trans am chewed it up and spit it out on the first run at the track lololololol

Or should i fine a place that sells longer sections so that i can just do one long brake line instead of like 2 or 3 spliced together?

Because my dad wasnt sure of how safe it would be. I guess if we have to splice it together anyway if we buy the 6 foot sections, it would make sense that we could splice together the part that i cut.
