what are the max R.P.M.s for a stock 4.6 liter
k so i tried the search and it came up empty so i ask you knowledgeable people.I have slightly better than stock 2000 gt and am getting a tuner and i want to know how high i can turn up the rev limiter and not blow it up.Or has ford got it pretty much perfect.Thank you.

fords got it pretty much on the ball. your still n/a so most of your power will drop past 5500 rpm's anyways.

well the max HP is at 5250 rpms so thats where I would shift...

im not sure anyone knows that answer for sure, you should pull your limiter off and stomp on it till it makes a funny noise, then back off a bit. im jk! stock parts and valve train can handle about 6500 rpm's safely. now whether or not you make power thats a diff story

like i said you can turn 6500 rpm's but you dont make much power up there.

You can go higher but if it makes a noise that sounds like a tick or a knock afterward. Please do not make a thread.

i pulled my stock motor 6500 rpm's all day with a blower and it took it fine. dont confuse the fact that my motor blew on me because of rpm's. it blew bc i swaped my pulley from a 3.6 to a 3.125 with out a tune. sure it sounds dumb but i had finished my new motor and i was not about to pull a perfectly good motor out of my car.

Think of it this way though.
When i blew mine at 6300 When she went...she went hard 12psi non-ic @ 142mph on a npi 4.6.... poor little sucker had it coming
